For those interested, today's Amazon DOTD is the Nyko wireless sensor bar for $8.99. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000LFJNG6

The reviews look pretty good, but I probably still have no use for a wireless bar.

Curious buyer here, but where does it mention on Red Octane's store site about the release date delivery?

Maybe this is a recent change, but from what I can see on Red Octane's site, the bundles with the extra items are $10 more than the regular version, and it looks like they can't be ordered anymore.

Edit: Oh wait, maybe it's just a confusing website. They have a link to an "elite" bundle underneath the regular version. The elite bundle, which can no longer be ordered, says it contains everything the regular version does, plus the gig bag, keychain and a guitar faceplate. There is some text underneath the regular version which mentions the extra bonus items. So, I guess: Nevermind.

Most of the reviews thought the wireless bar worked better than the one Nintendo gives you.

Link? I can't imagine how that even makes sense. There's just 2 lights in there.

I thought it was strange as well, but I can get some extra distance out of the Nyko bar and the cursor isn't as shaky anymore. I'm not sure why it works better - I just assumed that the lights are a little further apart, allowing the remote to triangulate its position from futher away.

I did find an IGN review that said basically the same thing. That's cool.

I just wonder how long the battery lasts in that thing. I don't want to have to keep replacing them. Does it turn off automatically or does it have a sleep mode?

Review I read said 30 hours. So expect 18. There would be no sleep mode or automatic shutoff because it does nothing but shine light. It would have no idea if you're using it or not.

All preorders get the gig bag, keychain, and 2" strap. From their site:

Pre-Order Promotional Items Include:
(1) Guitar Hero Dual Gig Bag
(1) Guitar Hero Key Chain
(1) Guitar Hero Designer 2" Wide Guitar Strap**

The $10 more expensive elite bundles included that, plus a t-shirt and an extra "custom" guitar faceplate. The elite bundles are sold out.

Hrmm Good.

Does anyone think that this is going to be the best pre-order out there?

I went a different direction, and ordered from FamilyVideo. Instead of goodies, it's $10 cheaper.

Well I went ahead and ordered it. I see that it is 10$ cheaper at another site. But I really wanted that bag.

Found a Wii at Target on Saturday. They had two left. I nearly jumped out of my shoes looking for someone to open the glass doors.

Now here's the bad part. It's sitting in the closet as a "Christmas gift" from Santa for the kids.

This will be the longest 2 1/2 months ever.

Wonder if i should tell my wife I need to crack open the box to setup the wireless connection

The wait will be easier once you realize there isn't anything great to play on it. Of coarse when brawl comes out that will probably change. That game looks hot like paris hilton would say.

^ Just be honest and tell her the internal flux capacitor needs a 60-day warm-up period of low to moderate use so that it won't short out when it does receive high loads.

Endless Ocean was just bumped to next year. It was due out this month, the latest IGN Wii podcast mentioned it.

I'm calling bullshit. I'm so tired of hearing this elitist crap.

Off the top of my head:

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition
Super Paper Mario
Mario Stikers: Charged
WarioWare Smooth Moves

And coming very soon:

Smash Bros. Brawl
Super Mario Galaxy

I'd put this list up against any console's first year...ANY console...EVER.
