I didn't say it didn't qualify you to have an opinion. I just said it was a noob opinion. :p And just because you have been gaming 31 years doesn't mean you have necessarily played a lot of games. How much experience do you have with the FPS genre in particular? Have you played most of them or have you only played the popular ones and never even heard of relatively unpopular ones like No One Lives Forever and Kingpin: Life of Crime? |

Yes, but I am not saying it is a bad thing to be a newbie. Everyone was a newbie at one time. Many people here started gaming with this generation. Just look at the tons of people that played Fallout 3 but never played Fallout 1 and 2, or played Deus Ex: Human Revolution but never played Deus Ex 1 and 2.
I would be surprised if most of the posters here haven't been gaming for at least 3 generations. |

Or even worse... his first system could have been an Atari Jaguar...

Re: iD's Rage= "Mad Max Thunderdome" pc,360,ps3
You people must be rich! I didn't get an Atari 2600, I got the Sears Telearcade. Actually, they were probably the same price we just had a Sears wishbook, and that's what I asked for to replace my Pong machine.

Re: iD's Rage= "Mad Max Thunderdome" pc,360,ps3
FWIW, I think that the Halo and the Ratchet & Clank series are pretty much the same games since they all take place in space, have heroes who wear space armor and have you on missions where you shoot aliens.

And don't forget Mario Galaxy with Mario in space. Mario Galaxy and Halo are obviously the same game. |

I never watched Saving Private Ryan, Inglourious Basterds, or Band of Brothers because I saw Memphis Belle.

Re: iD's Rage= "Mad Max Thunderdome" pc,360,ps3
Getting back to the actual game -- am I the only one who's a bit disappointed in all the invisible walls in this? I'm enjoying the game (I think I'm about halfway through), but the invisible walls really just take me out of it over and over again.
It's like the guys at ID want you to go out and explore but then when you try to do it you can't. The jumping mechanic is a bit odd too. Sometimes I can jump on objects, like smashed cars, yet other times I can't jump on the same sized cars or I can't jump over a railing of similar height. It's not game-breaking for me, but it is a bit annoying. So I guess that's really my only main complaint right now. If the world were just more "open" I'd be enjoying this much more. |
Re: iD's Rage= "Mad Max Thunderdome" pc,360,ps3
The invisible walls do ill the open world aspect of it. I was thinking the same thing when I couldn't get to certain places at the Ghost Hideout.

For a game that's supposedly "in the tradition" of Quake and Doom I'm spending a lot of time running races to upgrade my car. Wait, what? |

So Rage is like Knights of the Old Republic which is like Borderlands. Is there anything that isn't like Borderlands? Man, Borderlands must be the chicken of the video game industry. |

Kevin Bacon is the Borderlands of actors.

I guess the point is that everyone copies from everyone else. There's no true creativity in gaming anymore and nothing is truly original.... except, of course, for Power Gig which, as we all know, was the first game that let you air-drum along to Kid Rock and John Mayer songs -- visionary! |

Re: iD's Rage= "Mad Max Thunderdome" pc,360,ps3
And escort missions. They're nowhere near as much fun as what I experience when I call an escort service out of the Vegas phone book.

Re: iD's Rage= "Mad Max Thunderdome" pc,360,ps3
Hey, serious question : We were supposed to get the Wasteland Sewer Missions as free DLC with the game, right? I got the Anarchy pack but never saw any other DLC code. Was it something missing from the box? Was it hidden in the manual or something?
