Has anyone heard if it is WFC or just local multiplayer? Also, will it make the GameCube version completely obsolete? As for the second question, the Cube version, as awesome as it is, was pretty sparse. Even if they do a straight port, the portability factor would make the Cube version obsolete.. unless you don't have three friends with DSes, of course. I'd love for some good Bomberman style options and play modes, but my biggest wish is for them to yank out the Mario voices from the game. |

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction though. Also, for the poster who asked about FF3 versus Etrian - they are really nothing alike at all. FF3 is a standard Final Fantasy JRPG and Etrian is a old-school pretty brutal dungeon crawler. Etrian reminds me much more of the text based RPGs or some of those Rogue-like games. |

I thought i had read that FF3 was made a fair amount easier for the DS release. Did i just dream that up?
I haven't played FF3 myself but i have played some Etrian. |
Well I think anyone who isn't used to the old NES role-playing games would find FF3 very hard. Since it was a NES game the world is really small. In newer RPG's the worlds are big enough so that when you go from one town to another you have enough space to level up. In a game like FF3 the towns are really close. You actually have to spend time in the world map walking back and forth just leveling which I think a lot of people aren't used to.

Etrian Odyssey on the other hand.. :) |

Etrian Odyssey on the other hand.. :) So is FF3 like the old classes from the earlier FF games? Bear in mind, the only FF game i have ever played was the very first one on the NES (well i believe it was the NES and not SNES, it was called Final Fantasy). |

I started a game of Rune Factory this weekend.. it's still pretty much the standard Harvest Moon, which I was never too into, but has the added dungeon RPG element.. which is what piqued my interest. I only got to play for a few game days before my friends came over for the night, but I think it could hold my interest for a bit. Of course, since my girlfriend bought it, she took it home with her (even though her DS is packed), so it looks like I'll only get to play on the weekends for now. I need to spend a little more time with it to decide, but I may buy my own copy so we can do the multi-player stuff, depending on what all that is.
Oh, I also ordered Heroes of Mana online.. but the reality of any new games I get right now is that Etrian Odyssey is still the best DS game ever and still going to be my primary application for the time being! I'm about tempted to create a whole second party out of the characters I didn't use in my first party. Yeah, the game really has me that enthralled. |

August 27, 2007 - In 2005, IGN got hold of an official internal Nintendo software list that revealed a number of key DS games set to be announced in the future. All of the games on the list, including titles like Super Princess Peach, were eventually announced and released. All, that is, except for one -- a project known simply as Metroid Dread. To this day, Metroid Dread, thought to be a traditional 2D sequel in the Metroid franchise designed specifically for Nintendo's dual-screen handheld, has never publicly been acknowledged by the mega-publisher. But an unofficial nod to the project has been found hidden within the 20-hour adventure of fantastic Wii first-person adventure Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, developed by Retro Studios. Spoiler:

Looks like the Red/Black DS won't be purchased anytime soon from me.
Looks like the LCD Screens are worse than previous DS Lite screens. Only one report, but $150 is not something I want to gamble on when I have a perfectly fine DSlite(excluding hinge crack). |

Anyone know how limited the Brain Age bundle is? Looks like it may already be sold out in the stores I checked. I'm hoping for another shipment.
|
Well that's good to hear Pixy. Still a little less eager, but if I can unload mine, I may still bite.
Darkside, I see 'em everywhere. Is it labeled as limited? |

The PSP is the same way too, every one I've played with has had varying degrees of viewing angle and ghosting differences. |

Question about the carrying case included in the Crimson/Black Brain Age 2 DS bundle: I've got a DS with one of those silicon "skins" protecting it. Can anyone tell me if the carrying case from the BA2 bundle will fit a DS already encased in a silicon skin, or will it only fit a "bare" DS? I have a feeling the latter is the case, but just in case ...
