Re: Left 4 Dead-8 Player Co-Op

Finally going to get to play the new expansion tonight with my friends. Our schedule was messed up last week so we didn't get a chance to play. I'm quite excited, especially after seeing Zombieland. Time to nut up!!

Re: Left 4 Dead-8 Player Co-Op

Crash Course is an interesting level. A lot of alternate paths and optional side areas to explore. I wonder if this is a hint of what we're getting in L4D2's level design.

Re: Left 4 Dead-8 Player Co-Op

Crash Course is pretty good, but I'll be happy with a shift in the game's visual direction with L4D2. Getting tired of the stock urban/warehouse environments.

They need to patch Crash Course. Its becoming unplayable with too many loopholes/exploits.

We were having problems getting through on one step above normal. Usually one of us was already dead by the time the first tank hit. There isn't a terrifc place to secure yourself on this level. On top of the locker in the depot itself seemed to work best, but even that wasn't great.

Our only success has been on top of the barbed wire truck, especially if theres pipes/molotovs on there as well. Can get the lights back on, but thats about it.

Re: Left 4 Dead-8 Player Co-Op

Being new to this whole Xbox scene I started looking at some of the high rated games I missed. This one seems to come up a lot. I found it for like $20 today. Should I snag it or wait till L4D 2 lowers in price?
How long is this game, anyway? Still an online community for it with part 2 out now?

Left 4 Dead 2 for 20 bucks is a good deal...grab it...but find someone here to play with, especially one that screams like a girl when a special infected gets them...fun and funny as hell....

You really need to find someone to play it with to have a blast with it..at least 1 other person..If you get it, hit me up anytime, I love the game.

Re: Left 4 Dead-8 Player Co-Op

I still need to play through this one with others as well. I tried a couple of the random matches, but people were being stupid and running in by themselves. Does anyone here still play the first one? If so, I would love to run through a couple of the levels.

Re: Left 4 Dead-8 Player Co-Op

There are a few here butit's usually a planned evening just to get away from other games or someone just picked up the game and needs to go thru. Granted you can do it alone these games, both 1 & 2, really crave for 2-4players. I found the sweet spot is three players as the lone AI player actaully does help in a couple of ways.

Crash Course is one of the Deals of the Week next week, starting on the 12th. 320 points, normally 560.

I've never really played L4D and it's been on my list 4-ever, but I think I'm gonna go ahead and get this DLC next week so I have it when I eventually get around to playing the game.

Re: Left 4 Dead-8 Player Co-Op

Shit, I may have to buy this and I don't usually buy stuff like this.

Some info from their blog:

http://www.l4d.com/blog/post.php?id=3729

The first game add-on for Left 4 Dead 2 brings the original Left 4 Dead (L4D1) Survivors down south for a meeting with the L4D2 cast, while delivering new single-player, multiplayer and co-operative gameplay for the PC and Xbox 360.

The Passing also introduces a series of weekly game mode events dubbed "Mutations." These week-long runs of new gameplay modes range from "Realism Versus" mode to "Chainsaw Massacre," which gives all players chainsaws with an unlimited supply of gasoline. There are over 20 Mutations planned, each playable on all L4D2 Campaigns. Mutations are exclusively available to owners of "The Passing" DLC.

In addition, "The Passing" offers a new co-operative challenge mode of play, support for infected bot play in Versus, a new "uncommon common" zombie class (the fallen survivor), melee weapon (golf club), and firearm (M-60).

Available for 560 Microsoft Points on Xbox 360 and free on the PC, "The Passing" takes place just after the Dead Center campaign of L4D2. Set in a small town in rural Georgia, players assume the role of the L4D2 Survivors as they meet with the L4D1 characters.

Exclusively available for Xbox 360 and the PC, L4D2 sets a new benchmark for co-operative action games. The title adds melee combat to enable deeper co-operative gameplay, with items such as a chainsaws, frying pans, axes, baseball bats, and more.

With the AI Director 2.0, L4D's dynamic gameplay is taken to the next level by giving the Director the ability to procedurally change weather effects, world objects, and pathways in addition to tailoring the enemy population, effects, and sounds to match the players' performance. The result is a unique game session custom fitted to provide a satisfying and uniquely challenging experience each time the game is played.

Finally, with new Survivors, boss zombies, weapons, and items, Left 4 Dead 2 offers a much larger game than the original, featuring more co-operative campaigns, more Versus campaigns, new Survival maps, and the new competitive game mode, Scavenge.

To celebrate the launch of "The Passing" DLC this Thursday Valve employees will be playing on the PC between 11am-5pm PDT and then on the 360 from 7pm-11pm PDT using special accounts. To play with someone from Valve just friend one of the following:

On PC:
L4D2_DEV_1, L4D2_DEV_2, L4D2_DEV_3, L4D2_DEV_4, L4D2_DEV_5, L4D2_DEV_6, L4D2_DEV_7, L4D2_DEV8, L4D2_DEV_9, L4D2_DEV_10

On the Xbox 360:
L4D2 DEV 1, L4D2 DEV 2, L4D2 DEV 3, L4D2 DEV 4, L4D2 DEV 5, L4D2 DEV 6, L4D2 DEV 7, L4D2 DEV 8, L4D2 DEV 9, L4D2 DEV 10

Re: Left 4 Dead-8 Player Co-Op

The Passing is amazing. By itself, it is much better than Crash Course. The levels are bigger, and there are multiple ways to get through them, something lacking in Left 4 Dead games. The Mutation mode has potential, though the first one, Versus Realism, was nothing great. Love the added weapons. This is easily worth 560 points if you have people to play with. We played till 3 in the morning.

Glad I play this on PC as the DLC was free and I never buy content. Gotta love Valve, their still a PC dominant developer.
