I'd say you'd have to check the NYSE to see who the real winner is

I'd agree that no one's presentation seemed to win, but of the three companies, Nintendo is definitely "winning" this hardware battle, so perception of their event adjusts accordingly.

I'd say Nintendo "won" simply because they had the biggest surprise in Wii Fit. Sure, it's a disappointing surprise for us gamers but it's going to be big for them, no doubt. Removing that, I'd say that all three "won" and were about on equal grounds.. they all pimped their sales successes and showed off a plethora of upcoming software. Owners of the all three (or five) systems have lots to look forward to.

Same here. As I've stated before I'd say they were all on equal ground. The WiiFit & balance board is just enough to tip the scale just a hair to give the edge to Nintendo, whether it is marketed to me or not.

Nintendo didn't show the hardcore fans much of Mario Kart, Pikmin, F-Zero or any of another dozen franchises, but does anyone really doubt they aren't coming?

wouldn't that still be Nintendo?...

Neither Microsoft nor Sony is making money in the game industry, since both are selling their consoles at below cost in their attempt to boost interest. Nintendo, meanwhile, which introduced the $249 Wii six months ago, can barely keep up with demand for the profitable product.

The Washington post article is more a state of the gaming industry article than an E3 article. There was very little E3 in the story besides the Sony price drop and Microsoft Warranty announcement.

The mainstream press love the Wii. First the Washington Post article, now it's Forbes. Check out the link:

All things being equal I knew the balance board gave Nintendo a slight edge in the show.

Here are my thoughts after seeing all three shows.

I'm glad I turned down the invitation. It wasn't worth what it would've cost.
