I've been thinking the same thing. The atmosphere is very Condemned-ish, which gets a in my book.

Good to see i can fill two roles.

On the topic of Darkness though i'm completely stuck and am not sure if i need to start the chapter over again. I'm in Chapter 3.

Spoiler:
I'm heading into the Turkish Baths. I kept getting stuck at an door that can't be opened and there is poison gas coming out of the floor. I finally broke down and looked at a FAQ and see you need to use the Black Hole to get through part of that tunnel. The problem is i have only eaten like 194 hearts so i don't have the Black Hole.

I left the tunnels and have been wandering around everywhere and i can't find any cops or anything to kill to get more hearts. I checked the FAQ again and i have done all the sidequests up to this point so i have no clue what to do now or where to find some baddies to eat hearts. Any ideas? If i start the chapter over again will all the quests reset for the chapter and i will still have 194 hearts so i will be able to get Black Hole?

If the Black Hole is like other abilities, it doesn't depend on the number of hearts you consume (that just raises your darkness level) it depends on eating the heart of a guy with black smoke coming out of him (usually a boss). Not sure though, I'm not there yet.

Yeah like the Demon Arm was obtained from that one already dead dude near the pumps.

I agree with this as well. I was actually about 3/4 of the way through Condemned when my 360 crapped out a few weeks ago. It's nice to be enjoying this game on the PS3 while I wait to finish Condemned.

I think I'm about halfway through the game, but I'm a little disappointed in the lack of truly monstrous and otherworldly enemies. It just seems like the Darkness just gives you this huge advantage, and you don't really get to fight enemies that are on par with what you can do.

Hrm, i thought for sure it came from the number of hearts. Someone had told me it unlocked at 200 hearts. Hrm, i will have to see who i may have missed that would give me that ability.

Spoiler:

Just looked it up in an FAQ for you. Seems like you get it after you kill Deval and eat his heart

I really liked this one. Not too hard, lots of different abilities and weapons. Does anyone know if there is more than one ending? The ending I got seemed a little...underwhelming.

Spoiler:

Ok....in the bunker there is a door. To the one side of it is a hole. Slide a tentacle in the hole, take out the soldier and unlock the door. If I recall the crate and weakened wall is to the left of the door. Use the Kamikaze darkling to blow open the crate and it doing so you'll blow open the wall.

If I am misunderstanding the part you are stuck at let me know.

I found Pestilence, don't remember about Famine. I've been everywhere on the map. I get to do it all over now because of the save system, so I will pay more attention this time. Any tips on Famine?

That's the part. I'm at the wall/crate but my Darkling is forming outside the bunker. He stands around and I direct him towards the wall and the sunlight gets him.

Thanks guys.

I swear there was a darkling spawn point between the locked door and the crate. That's really odd.

Hrm, i haven't found that person yet. I wandered through the tunnels triggering rope traps and found several locked doors. Eventually i found a locked door and there is poison gas coming out of part of the floor. A piece of pipe that i can't tentacle-skewer fell and i can't go back. The poison gas hurts me when i approach the door and i can find no way to activate the door.

There is. It is at the beginning of the tunnel. Maybe that is the key, standing closer to that one instead of the one near the wall & crate. I'll be getting back to it tonight.
Well, worked on the first try. I didn't know you had to stand on the spawn points to actually use them.

I decided to join the in crowd and picked up this game yesterday. It's lots of fun. I'm not too far into it yet, but I'm having a blast.

I know there's been some talk about being able to watch To Kill a Mockingbird and Nosferatu in their entirety. I also came across a TV (in the subway station at the begining of the game) where you can watch The Man With The Golden Arm. I only stayed to watch the opening credits, but I thought that was pretty awesome. It makes me wonder how many other films are in the game.

Never mind on Famine - it's still a little bit ahead of you.

I haven't seen Nosferatu in there - but yeah, I watched a couple cartoons in the subway early on in the game

Just got past that point this weekend, so I'm now equipped to help you:

Spoiler:

use your darkness creeper power to go up over the locked door and through the vent, then unlock the door. This leads you to the room with Deval, who after you defeat him and eat his heart will give you the Black Hole power

BTW, did anyone confirm that "To Kill a Mockingbird" achievement if you watch the whole movie? As I said before, I left my PS3 on to watch the whole thing, came back, and couldn't get the character off the couch, so I'm wondering if I missed it.

There are some frustrating puzzles in the game, including that bunker one. I had to cheat when it came to getting the last guy on Gun Hill for that "kill the West Coasters" sidequest. At least that was just a sidequest.

No there isn't an achievement for watching the whole thing - there is that Romantic one, and that's it.

Yep. Everyone was confusing the Romantic achievement for a separate one for watching the movie.

Stupid question -- how do you use the Darkness Arm to move heavy objects. I can latch it onto something by hitting the right bumper, but then what do I do? Specifically:

Spoiler:
I'm in the village where you meet your great grandfather. In the rive below the village, there's a grating with a bonus envelope behind it. I can latch the arm onto the grating, and I assume I'm supposed to use the arm to rip the grating off, but I can't figure out how to do that.

You have to hold down the right bumper to activate the arm and get it to latch on to an object. Then I think you use the left thumbstick to move the arm and the object.
