I'm pretty sure that's just the entire game. But yeah, dumb if that's how their doing it instead of patching a smaller part that needs to be patched.
Hey, at least it's supposed to run at 60 frames-per-second on both PC and consoles.

Playing a no frills old school shooter sounds pretty good to me. I'm tempted to get this on PC since there's so many discounts and coupon codes out there.

My copy shipped from Microsoft store yesterday, still out for delivery. Dammit. Was hoping to get it this morning so I could have it installed and play it this afternoon. Wife and kiddo are soon to be home so will probably have to wait till some time this weekend.

A nice little surprise inside the case...an alternate cover that is 100x better than the original. Flipped it over asap.

Welp, this is the best Doom or Quake I've played since Doom 64 in '97. Solid atmosphere, amazingly smooth frame rate, great environmental graphics. Sure enemy design leaves a little to be desired, but it's pretty damn fun so far.

So they went with that good alternate cover, I still don't get what they were trying to do with the generic ass one.
It feels like two very different teams did work on this product. You have the beta and the coverart which was generic as hell, then you have the campaign and the alt artwork which is pure Doom.

Is this straight out MP only or does it have some SP campaign/story and is there like co-op against AI?

My system doesn't seem to be running noticeably louder than most other games, but I may just have the audio cranked up (xb1 version). They may have cranked it up to get the frame rate as stable and fast as it is.
But then again, even if it was taxing it's not like it's a super pricey console anymore (refurbs with controller regularly go under $200, which knocks the refurb console price alone to what, $150?). I guess that's besides the point, just strikes me as a silly thing to be concerned with (or maybe I'm just used to it from PC gaming)
