He probably got it before the Wii version was announced. I did the same and played through the GC version this spring.

I don't' really regret as the main game is the same, all it added in was the couple of extra modes that were already in the PS2 version. And I wouldn't touch those anyway as I have no desire to bother with the mercenaries mode or Assignment Ada as is.

I liked the game, but not enough to ever touch it again after beating it. I would have liked to have tried the Wii controls, and would have waited for that version if it had been announced sooner. But oh well.

In that case, i hope you have the Wii24 turned off, since it generates some heat, not enough to kill the Wii, but hearing you put it in a closed environment, it's something worth to mention.

Well, i don't have a wireless connection for the wavebird, so yeah, if i don't disconnect the controllers, it's fugly. Not only that, since my Wii is in open space, i have to worry about dust problems. With the little doors open, dust can get into the sockets, that's bad...

Yep, I turned off Wiiconnect24. Don't use the Wii enough to leave it on, and right now the mode is useless anyway as I don't use any of the channels nor care about messaging.

I hope you have at least downloaded the Opera browser while it is still free...

Would suck to realize down the road that you want it and then have to pay for it.

i'm pretty sure most Wii owners downloaded the Opera browser... even though i don't use it much, it's still more handy than weather and news.

I don't know anything about the Ada game, but the Mercenaries mode is awesome. You should at least give it a try. It is really well done and of course, if you can score over 50 (or 60k) in each of the 4 maps for each character, you can unlock the hand cannon (which makes going thru the main game even more fun). It is really a rush to have all the bad guys coming after you and you try to kill them all as fast as possible. Great fun.

Sure. Oh, but I don't have a Wii yet.

(I'll still keep it around once I get a Wii, though, because of the Game Boy Player.)

I did. I think it sucks, but I have it (the updated version).

I gave it a try for an hour or so, and just couldn't get into it.

Don't care about the hand cannon as I have no desire to ever replay through the game.

Does anyone want to get rid of theirs? I'm looking to replace my now dead one to use at my beach place I'm renting for the summer. I want to get some GC games finished without hauling my Wii up there every weekend.

I actually had (well, have) two of them. One has been replaced with the Wii, but the other still gets decent use in the basement.

In hindsight...I should have unloaded the extra back when EBGames was paying $50 for trade-ins. Much less than that (what are they now, $30 or so?) and I might as well keep it for a spare.

Same here. This way, if the tv where the Wii is hooked up is in use, one of the kids can go play there if they want.

I haven't used mine in a while, but I'm keeping it for the Gameboy Player attachment. It's great for RPGs when you don't want to be staring at a tiny screen for hours on end. Second best GBA unit, with the Micro being my favorite.

Well I had a gamecube once. But I sold it and a few games for $100 to a friend.

I may get a wii next year if some more good games come out for it.

I don't want to get a xbox 360 right now.(Because they break too easily)
May get one when most of the bugs are worked out.

As for the PS3 I really want to get one of them. But they are to expensive right now.

So do you think getting a wii next year would be a good idea?

Look at the games that are out for it when you plan to buy it next year. If you want to play them then buy it.
