i am new to this series, GH3 is the first i have bought. i have a question about the guitar. after i snap the neck into the body, how much give should there be? after it locks into place, i can still pull the neck of the guitar into the body a few millimeters and without pressure it goes back. doesn't sound like much, but it is kind of annoying while playing. i tried to see if the guitar they had out at best buy was like this, but they must have glued the pieces together, because it didn't move and the release latch did not release the neck.
is there supposed to be a little give and movement between the neck and the body of the guitar or is it supposed to lock into place and be rock solid?
THANKS

I think there is a little lock switch on the back of the body near where the neck connects. maybe check that and make sure its on lock.
This is my first GH game, i bought it yesterday. That line on the yellow button hurts my ring finger.

Dude, it's just a game. No need to go the entire 'rock star' route.

Maybe i push the buttons to hard. i've played bass for years and my ring finger doesnt hurt unless its like a 4 hour set. maybe because the guitar hero one is veritcal instead of horizontal. i'll have to practice more!

Added Mordred to my friends list. Any Wii owners who want to add me certainly can. I'm particularly interested in co-op play:

I guess it killed that AND my wrist. I just turned it off and let it be, hopefully when I start it up again tomorrow or sunday it will be ok. If not...this game + rock band will probably = me buying a new one.Originally Posted by cartman

On hard.. there just isn't enough star power to get me thru sections. It's the only song I haven't passed other than the final one once you complete the 4. I managed to 3 star the other songs.Originally Posted by edstein
Hard or Expert? I'm having trouble with the last tier on Hard. I have beaten Cliffs of Dover. I get to about 77% on One when the fast solo kicks in, it kicks my ass. Raining Blood is really hard too. I started expert but have gotten stuck on Rock and Roll All Night.
I started on Expert and I want to kill Tom Morello.

Just confirming I'm not the only one with this problem.
We had a friend over last night with the Wii edition. We are going to another friend's house tonight that also has GH3 for the Wii, but he hasn't opened it yet. We got a fair amount into the game last night and don't really want to unlock everything again, but the save for GH3 won't copy onto my SD card, though my saves for Metroid and WiiSports will.
Sounds like other games have had this problem (Elebits) but can't find confirmation on it for this game.
Looks like I'm not the only one who noticed this. That's extremely lame.

I added you to my friends. I tried to invite you to a Coop match, but I'm not sure it sent you the invite. I don't know how it works on the Wii.Originally Posted by Groucho

Finally got to Lou on Hard after somehow finding my way through Raining Blood (but not before grabbing the "Blowin It" achievement
). Anyway, the Lou battle is exactly why Boss Battles suck. It's so trial and error and luck. I played 6 or so times, and everytime I pick up a power-up, it's the level increase, broken string, or, at best, whammy. When he picks one up? Double notes or lefty flip. Nice.
The saving grace here is that I'm not exactly playing great to begin with, but I'd like to have a shot with something other than breaking one of his strings.

It really doesn't matter what you get, they fuck up the boss regardless. For example, I was playing Slash and used Broken String on him. It broke Orange, and there weren't even any Orange notes in his pattern, but he still missed his powerup, as well as a bunch of other notes. It seems they always play perfect, until you throw a powerup on their side.Originally Posted by Mad Dawg

Funnily enough, the best way to beat Lou on expert is to get a whammy power up first and use it on him instantly. He has a big long string of super fast green notes and he'll fail instantly if you do.Originally Posted by Mad Dawg

Of course what do I always get against him? Lefty flip. Which does me no good because I'm almost always dead before I get to the next powerup.

Right, and I get tend to get the whammy power up later in the song. I get the level increase during that portion almost every time. I finally had him in the red today with double notes, but of course he hit me with that too, and during the most intense part of the song, so I was a goner.Originally Posted by Mordred

35-38% every time.
damn it!!!
I had the exact same problem. I came to the realization that I wasn't going to nail those HOPO's during the "Mosh 1" part any time soon. Instead I made sure I got the first two star powers and that was enough to get through that part and the rest was smooth sailing.Originally Posted by mkdevo

Well, Slipknot can kiss my ass. I'm playing them on expert right now. Got 2 achievements off that song. Fail 10 a song ten times and fail a song after 90%.
I had to stop playing. I tried maybe 20 times, and my hands got too tired. Can't wait until I get to Raining Blood.

For those of you that may have wanted the 3 songs from the GH3 soundtrack but didn't want to buy the soundtrack, FYE (and wherehouse and secondspin) currently pay $5 cash (or $6.25 trade) for the disc. If you get (or got) it at BB or CC for $9.99, then it's the same price as a normal 3 song download (before tax). The good news for those of you that don't want to buy a CD for the 3 downloadable songs is that all three of them blow

South Park is hijacking Guitar Hero on Wednesday. Early pictures indicate Stan's dad in his undies playing the game. On the coattails of Imaginationland, Season 11 of South Park might be the stroke of genius for these guys.
"Guitar Queer-O," according to the official site. It's totally going to rock.
