I was hoping some local store would have some type of special event but no luck.

I was up all night cooking and prepping up food for the next few days. I have some people coming over to play/watch so I wanted to be ready. Trying a few new recipes and some of old favorites. Should be a good time.

The only reason that our area is getting special stuff is because its the home to Bungie and Microsoft. You would hope we would get some cool stuff.

Me too. I can drive by a Circuit City, Target, and a Best Buy on the way home from work on Tuesday. No need to waste time in a line at midnight.

I also made this chicken salad with dried cranberries and toasted walnuts in it. It kicks ass on a pita. My wife is charge of cooking me any real meals while I am on vacation for the next 2 weeks. I figure between this stuff, the random snacks I bought and the cases of Game Fuel in the fridge I should be set.

Played lots of 2 & 4 player co-op today, all on Legendary. 2 players makes Legendary very manageable (much easier than GoW on Insane) and 4 players is a friggin' cakewalk. You really need to turn on a few of the skull powers to increase the challenge.

I had some serious lag problems in my 2 player game, but I was playing with someone from the UK. I really don't care for the co-op interface. I suppose Gears spoiled me. You can't jump into a game seemlessly, only join up in the lobby.

I also played quite a bit of Ranked games, mostly Team Slayer and Team Objective play. Some crazy bastards in Team Slayer already have their entire teams organized and working as a unit. My teams usually flailed around and all went their own seperate ways.

BTW, my armor colors are bright purple with pink highlights and my emblem is a white Unicorn. Go, Go Unicorn Power!

I'm thinking about buzzing by my local Gamestop, holding up my copy of Halo 3 from the Pontiac contest and scream out "Wal-Mart is selling them already!" with a fake reciept in my hand.

I planned out my avatar on some website that lets you pick through everything ahead of time and i will be rocking a silver unicorn avatar on a gradiated field of brown/crimson.

Also, the Wal-Mart idea, ridiculously mean.

I'm pretty pleased that my 3 good friends really got their shit together finally. They all wanted the game but claimed that "real life" and "adult responsibilities" were getting in the way. They have now dropped all that nonsense and are prepared to play some with me the next few days. I was really worried about them for a bit there.

Well I just finished the single player campaign. Overall it was really good. Probably my favorite of the three Halos. This one succeeds in that it plays to the strengths of Halo (outdoor squad combat with vehicles) rather than throwing you inside some enemy base and wandering through. There is still some of that but most of the game is outdoors and involves vehicles. Another thing the game does well is making everything feel epic. The score is good (though it gets a bit too Enya sounding at times) and the way the levels are set up really draw you into a movie type atmosphere. Its a really short ride but its fun. Probably 9-10 hours of gameplay for me.
