I picked this up on the 360 yesterday. While swinging around is fun, I wish the game wouldn't freeze so damn much! Luckily, it saves quite frequently so you don't have to redo too much but it is becoming a pain in the ass.

Is this game worth buying? So it freezes and is glitchy? How are the graphics. I saw the trailer on an OXM disc and was not impress by the graphics at all. Should I just hold out and wait for C and C 3?

Wow, I guess its time to go and pick up cheap copies of SP2 and Ultimate Spider Man on the Cube. No way I pay for this crappy next gen version. I'd rather just play through those again.
Nice to hear yet another PS3 version that has horrible frame rate issues. I'm guessing any game made for the 360 first will be completely unplayable on the PS3.
Spider-Man 3 Wii 5.7
Spider-Man 3 PS2 3.5
Spider-Man 3 PS3 6.0
Spider-Man 3: Collector's Edition PS3 6.0
Spider-Man 3 Xbox 360 6.0
As you can see the PS2 and Wii versions are even more of a disaster. Nothing likes games that are rushed to market. If time is an issue I'd rather they just make one version and get it right. Why put out 5 shit versions instead? I guess because people will buy it anyway.

I've been playing this game for a couple hours and it hasn't froze once yet. Seems like Spiderman2 with better graphics and some new tricks...not too shabby.

The game has slightly better Metareviews:

GamePro liked it.

I picked up the Wii version today and played a couple hours. Pretty fun... I can imagine it will get repetetive pretty soon though. And 2 hrs into playing i'm 20% through the game so it isn't terribly long.

Since my 360 broke last weekend, I was going to buy the PS3 version - but those reviews have put me off for now... My PS3 gamewise is also gathering dust...I've got 1 game that I played like 4 times...

Finally some good news. Vicarious Visions, the only American developer outside of the Puzzle Quest guys that has a clue on making DS games, has apparently put out an excellent version of the game.
I'll definitely pick this one up.
8.1 from IGN.
Gamespot has a few reviews up and they are not much better.
PS3 6.6
Xbox360 6.6
Once again Gamespot notes the PS3 version has the bigger frame rate issues and the fact the games really don't seem very next gen. Apparently the MO for PS3 multiconsole games is bad frame rate.
1Up also review them with similar results:
PS3 5.0
Xbox360 5.0
Remember that a 5.0 from 1up is about the same as a 6 from IGN or Gamespot so the three major sites are all in agreement.

It has been fine for me now. It locked up about 9 or 10 times in the first hour but since then it's been okay, well aside from the game being pretty much a glitchy beta. I hate these ridiculously stupid and cheap boss fights. The camera makes the fight against the lizard (where he has a shield no less! You have to throw him into four generators before you can even wail on him. Did I mention he's also gigantic?) damn near impossible. I switched the 360 off out of frustration - it was just so stupid.
There was one section where you are meant to track down gang members. I did that and went followed the marker to what was supposedly the next location but there was nothing there. I crawled all over the nearby buildings for at least half an hour before I restarted the mission. Turns out I had finished it but the cutscene didn't kick in so that's why I wasted my time looking for something that didn't exist. As for no lock on? Retarded. That should have been one of the first things created. 99.99% percent of frustration with this game is because most of the time you can't see what the hell is going on. The fact I paid good money for it is the only reason I'm going to force myself to finish this game and that won't be anytime soon. Don't get me wrong, there are positives to the game but it's hardly worth wading through all the other crap to get to them.

That giant Lizard sequence is a total pain in the ass. I played it five times and then turned off my 360. The rest I've been liking more and more. When you get the black suit, the whole game changes. I love it. Also, I've had zero lockups on the 360 and no framerate issues like I did on the PS3. But I think I've got my money's worth out of it.
Edit: Also, for those of you who want to play as New Goblin, he is a playable character in one mission of the regular game.

I've played it a couple hours so far (on Wii) and I find it to be tremendous fun. I haven't played any of the Spider-Man games in the past couple of years so maybe that's why it feels new experience.

From the ign review. This pretty much sums up the movie for me as well.
"Anyone hoping that Spider-Man 3 the videogame somehow enhances the feature film will be sorely disappointed. The storyline makes little sense in the game, with random clips and unexplained circumstances the norm rather than the exception. After facing some of the seemingly impossible bosses, you may not even want to keep following the story. It never gets easier and it never becomes fun. Aside from swinging around the city, there's little else good that Spider-Man 3 has to offer. So, yeah, don't get it. Take the advice of your friendly neighborhood editor and resist the temptation."

I love this game. I hate it when reviewers expect a game to reinvent the wheel, and give them a bj at the same time.
The bugle explosion level is the most fun ive had in a game in a while. IGN can eat it with their 6 review.
But then again I hate 'great' games like MGS, Oblivion, etc. so whatever
