I really hope more forum member buy the upcoming Burnout. I had a great time playing it online but it sure died off quick.

Burnout died because it was a complete pain in the balls to get a game going.

I thought the controls were fine in Chrome Hounds. I just prefer Armored Core 4 like 10 to 1 against that game :/

Yep. Fun while it was working, but a complete nightmare trying to get it working with a full room.

It depends on your mech, how it is designed, the role, and how damaged you are. I made a scout hound that is on a hover base with a few machine guns and little else. It turns quick, moves quick, but is pretty weak. The game appears to be about tradeoffs - you want a big armored behemoth then you pay the price in mobility and speed.

I'm hoping to jump into the online arena this weekend with Chromehounds but i'm fascinated by the idea of the online play. The war between the three factions being battles with real people 24 hours a day. I think i had read they are on the 18th cycle of this grand battle. I had also read they are doing things like after one faction spends so much money or contributes so much money to something then one of the regions on the world map will have an AI controlled superweapon mech fighting on their side as some mystery unit whenever battle is enetered in that region.

And that is one of the primary reasons i will not buy the new Burnout. Until that EA server crap is fixed the games are useless online. Which is a shame, because i genuinely think Revenge would have had legs - it was so much fun with the rivalries and all.

xmiyux : did you learn how to put shields directly in front of your cockpit?

it involves a lot of weird positioning of parts, and uses a spacer to position it in just the right way.

Is anyone still palying GRAW2? I need some co-op achievements, and there are some you cannot do alone.

Are you referring to the co-op campaign achievements? I could help you out with those if you'd like. On GRAW1, I was able to beat some of the co-op missions solo, but they definitely made it harder on GRAW2.

Yes - Co-op campaign. There's one mission where 2 different Comm Links need to be disabled simultaneously, and Caldera is tough because there's so many dang bad guys hanging out in the extraction zone.

Oh yeah, I forgot about those simultaneous mission objectives. There's also one of those in the last mission. I just sent you a friend request, let me know if/when you want to play.

I wouldn't go that far. Yes Burnout online was virtually unplayable but I got 60+ hours completing the single player game and eking out every possible single player achievement point since the MP ones are impossible. But you are right, Burnout had so much potential for a solid online title, it did go to waste.

One of the recent podcasts mentioned that Criterion puts the names of people that gained all 1000 points on a wall in their offices. If the game were actually playable, getting those other couple hundred via online matches should have been no problem.

I'm looking forward to 5.

I guess I just don't understand the critiques of Burnout Revenge. Easily this has gotten the most playtime online of any 360 game I own. It isn't shocking to log on and play for 3 or 4 hours. Sometimes it might be difficult to get a full rated room, but starting with one less than max is quite easy.

I had a blast with Burnout, especially trying to complete the single player mode and getting the single player achievements. Unforunately, by the time I bought the game (price drop) most people here gave up on trying to play it online. The only luck I've had with playing with more than 1 other person in the room was when FSUNole1998 was hosting.

The internet has made keeping secrets next to impossible. The ESRB is a prime example of that. But this is a bit of info that could very well mark the next step in the evolution of home gaming.

I present to you, US Patent Number 20070087830. For those of you who are too lazy to read through all of that, allow me to summarize: The following patent, filed by Microsoft, is for what is basically a home entertainment hub that will bring your Windows-enabled mobile phone (ala Blackberries), your Windows Vista-enabled PC, and your Zune into one uber network with your gaming device, allowing all of the listed mediums to share the same platform.

While it doesn’t give us any specs or technical data, it paints a vivid image in our heads of what Microsoft wants to do with the experience they want to give to gamers. I just hope they come up with a name better than “720.”
I think I'll trade in my 360 now, so I can get maximum trade in value!

Chris

one person reported he was able to hack the new elites since it came with the old hitachi drive. Don't know if all of them are the hitachi drive though.

I downloaded the Command & Conquer Demo. I thought it was pretty well done. You can play 2 different campaigns. I ended up playing for quite awhile probably ended up being the longest demo I've ever played.

Put in the game, go to Live, select custom match. See which room is close to full and join. Doesn't seem to be luck. I do it almost every night.
