Luckily, I've still managed to survive on only purchasing one extra remote so far (I've got three total, but one is not mine and was left in my care along with a classic controller until the owner actually got a Wii).
Really? Does Japan even have multicolored controllers at this point?

Pink would go over well in my house, but I think I'm bound to wait for the next official hardware revision with built-in rechargeable batteries.

well, i know for a fact it wasn't like that at launch, so i really don't feel the need to try to argue about it, but yes, I do believe they would just have to update the server, and not the cart at all

Ok, I'll drop it after my final comments:
1. I had the game at launch, it was there.
2. I did not bring up the server discussion.
3. Regardless, the server tracks the stats true, but the fact that the software can show a players connectivity rating is on the cart unless they forcing downloads of the screen data every time. (highly doubtfull)

So here we are. Your word versus my word + verifiable information prior to the game launch from Nintendo.com.

Official Mass Storage USB for Wii

From C3 News :

"With many people complaining about the small size of the 512MB internal memory of Nintendo's Wii and the current lack of compatibility between the system and external USB storage devices, there appears to be good news on the horizon. An official Press Release has gone out from eSOL, Ltd, stating that its leading embedded middleware products, "PrFILE2" FAT file system and "PrUSB/Host" USB host stack, have been selected by Nintendo for use with the Wii console.

Both software products constitute fundamental functionalities in the Wii console - managing and transferring data and files with external media. In particular, PrFILE2 provides file management functions that read and write data from SD memory cards, as well as other media. PrUSB/Host functions are used in Wii, to provide USB host functions.

'I am very happy that we could take part in the development for Wii, a new game console from Nintendo. I believe that our products were selected because Nintendo highly-valued our long, successful history with many digital consumer products and high-reliability and functionality based on that. We will continue to provide superior products and technical services to strongly support developers in embedded software development.'
- Nobuyuki Ueyama, Executive Vice President, Embedded Products Division at eSOL.

So could this finally be the answer we have all been looking for when it comes to downloading lots of Virtual Console games?

Stay tuned for further details..."

The day Snatcher and/or Policenauts are available on the VC will be my happiest day as a Wii owner.

Well, considering that there's been some hints that Suda Goichi's secret "Project S" on which he's collaborating with Kojima on has something to do with Snatcher.. it's entirely possible both of those would be made available (in some fashion) to bring US fans up to speed (even if they may not be direct sequels).

I don't have a Wii, and don't know the answer, so don't flame me on this. But doesn't the console accept standard SD cards? Or is that only for saved games?

Currently, you can store VC games on an SD card, but they have to be moved back to the internal memory to be played.

Interesting. I'm surprised, actually. Maybe we'll see more. They should have a single launch site though, instead of having to keep using different URLs.

IGN says 20 hours, with a possibility of it being longer.
