Not random. When you throw the ball up to serve it, hit it when it reaches its highest point.

It's all in the timing, just swing right as the ball is at the peak of ascent. I can do it about half the time.

I've never been able to do it, but I brought the Wii to a party on Saturday night and people who had never played the game before were nailing the power serve.

i can do it almost every time. It's like getting the best start in mario kart. once you know when to push the button, it's pretty easy

What Kurrpt said. Once you know the timing of it, it is really easy.

I've done it a few times...did not know what was what in relation to the ability to do it one time and not the next as I do not play it much.

is it easier to do with a higher pro level? I seem to do it almost every time now that I'm at 1600+ level, although it probably is the timing and I'm just getting better at.

What's harder is returning an opponent's power serve for a winner. I've only done that once or twice, but it's very satisfying when it does happen.
