I'm having a great time reading all about what we don't know about you people.
Man, what a great story this would make if your approach yields positive results! Sure would make a nice counter-point to all that hater rhetoric spewed by Jack Thompson.

Ah, but that's the beauty of it -- nobody had a VCR yet. Seriously it was a master class in acting : I, being a 10 year old boy, fight with my 6 year old "sister" over what to watch on TV with such ferocity that I shove her to the floor. Then our "mother" shows us how we can TAPE one show and WATCH the other! Brilliant!

I had the same experience and also managed to beat the game in my youth. Now if I play it on an emulator I'm lucky if I can get past the 2nd or 3rd level.

You beat Ninja Gaiden?
I made it to the final boss at least two dozen times. I got sick of it kicking me back all those levels when he'd kick my ass so I eventually threw in the towel.
The sequel however I beat on my very first playthrough. Not only that, but my first man. Didn't die once. Not quite the challenge the first one gave me.
