The Descent in HD w/o BD! Woo!!
The Wickerman, I'm assuming is the remake (the original is amazing but wouldn't be in HD), is comedic gold, I haven't laughed so hard in a long long time. Horrible writing/acting/directing at it's absolute finest.
Sucker punches in a bear suit FTW!

The original Wicker Man was so good that part of me died when i saw there was going to be a remake.
Cecil B. Demented though, is a great film.
edit: the Wicker Man (original) soundtrack is also incredible and sitting in my car right now to listen to on the way home from work.

I haven't seen the original, but if I could only base my opinion that terrible movie I saw, it would be hard for me to agree with ANY good words about the film
the only "decent" parts were when Nick Cage punched 2 separate chicks in the face. Obviously, that should give you some indication of how terrible this re-make really is

None of those movies interest me. Microsoft needs to score some big exclusives like Indiana Jones, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Harry Potter, etc. Get them to the marketplace before these come out on HD-DVD or BRD. Beerfest? Why do they even bother?

Also Kurrpt, you ought to check out the original. It is a slightly spooky (not really horror at all) drama that really has some interesting psychological and religious themes. One of my top movies.
edit: spelled a name incorrectly

i actually found Beer Fest enjoyable. Sure, you would be going into the movie, expecting nothing, but its definitely comical. Its along the lines of Super Troppers, or Office Space...
Now, I wouldn't go so far as to say its AS good, but I haven't talked to anyone who hasn't enjoyed the movie.
I'll look into seeing that Wickerman original realease. The remake was the worst film ive seen in months, so im generally optimistic

MS reassures gamers on Crackdown/Halo 3 promo
Microsoft's marketing team promises in blog that all Crackdown copies from the "pretty huge" initial shipment will have invites to anticipated beta test.

It's a small leap from anticipation to apprehension, and with few games as eagerly anticipated as Microsoft's Halo 3, fans of the franchise have been understandably antsy about landing a spot in the game's invite-only beta test.
Microsoft announced three ways gamers could snag an invite, and with one of those points of entry already closed and invites sent out, desperate gamers are turning their attention to the remaining two. Specifically, they're wondering about the promise that specially marked copies of Microsoft's free-roaming Crackdown will include an invitation to the Halo 3 beta test.
To address any concerns, the Xbox 360 marketing team updated its GamerScore Blog today with reassuring words about the scarcity (or lack thereof) of those specially marked Crackdowns.
"The initial shipment of Crackdown at retail will include access to the Halo 3 beta," the blog notes. "The 'initial shipment' is pretty huge, so there will be enough to go around. For those Halo 3 fans who are STILL losing sleep over this, you can guarantee entrance into the Halo 3 Beta by purchasing a copy of Crackdown when it launches Feb. 20th."
Crackdown has been rated M for Mature. For more on the game, check out GameSpot's latest hands-on or download the demo from the Xbox Live Marketplace.

From: You might catch me in Atlanta, looking like a boss
Got my 3rd Xbox back from MS today. Like Michael Corvin, I believe this one is new, not refurbished (build date November 2006). So refreshing to not have to hear the disc drive that sounds like a chain saw scratching up my discs. I was FINALLY able to play through a whole game of NBA 2k7 without the game getting stuck somewhere.

How do the HD downloads compare to HD-DVD? They are all 5.1 sound at least, correct?

Rumor: DMC 4 to the 360?
Jonah tipped us off on the contents of his official Playstation Magazine (yes, the same one with the Gears ad). Inside, there is an article discussing the future of Devil May Cry 4 and whether it will remain a PS3 exclusive. PSM is reporting that Capcom will be showing some more Microsoft love and will be bringing the series to the Xbox 360. We’ve all heard this rumor before, but we’re starting to feel a little more giddy by the day. Are you guys interested in Devil May Cry 4 coming to the 360 and do you think it’ll help with console sales?

I can understand no reimbursement for one repair, but here I am with two and almost two months of a service I don't get to use because of their faulty equipment.
Oh well, after having to deal with them over MSN for my parents, I really didn't expect any less. Plus it is only $10 hardly anything to seriously worry about, I just thought I would give it a shot.

Bought a 360 on Wednesday night.
Hooked it up Thursday after work.
Played yesterday after work and this morning.
Tonight, it started freezing.
Tomorrow, I take it back to Circuit City and exchange it for a new one.
Somehow, in the 48 hours I've had the damned thing out of the box, I've managed to misplace the headset and ethernet cable (both of which are still in their bright green/orange plastic wrapping!), so exchanging is going to be a pain.

Sorry to hear that JasonF.
I hope MS can get a handle on this because shit like this does nothing but give Wii owners something to laugh about.

Yeah, I love the system but MS needs to step up the QA. What month was yours produced in, Jason?
