anyone else have any issues with connecting to a co-op game in Crackdown?

I always have to jump through 20 hoops to get it to connect. Thankfully, after I got it working last night, i played with my friend for about 3-4 hours straight

The only issue I had was with a friend that rented it. Since he rented it, he didn't download the 4 free agents.

Since I had and he hadn't it wouldn't let us connect. Once he did download them, we were able to connect without issue.

well, I got that download, but I remember trying to connect to another person's game, and it sounded as if I was missing something.

In retrospect, maybe it was just the other way around :/

At any rate, what do you do? Do you just host a co-op game and invite someone, or do you launch a single player game and just invite them that way?

Just launch a solo game and then the second player goes to co-op and can see your game if you are on their friends list and then they can hop in.

Oh, kick ass! I won the Gamescoreblog Live Arcade contest earlier this month. 1000 marketplace points for me! Maybe I'll pick up Alien Hominid on Wed.

Also, Alien Hominoid (sp?) is supposed to hit XBLA this Wednesday for 800 points. I never play any version, so I may bite.

Alien Hominid is a 2D shooter with a sense of humor - kinda like Metal Slug, though not quite as intricately animated, Alien Hominid is a bit more out-there and surreal - though it gets a bit repetative, as all you're doing is shooting similar looking agents.

It was a FLASH game that got turned into a console game...so, it started with a very simple concept. I never played any version of it, but I have 7900 points burning a hole in my virtual pocket

To give you a slightly better idea, here's the review for the PS2 version:

Here's the original flash game, it's changed a good bit since its jump to consoles:

It isn't out yet, so no, no they didn't. Hopefully the 360 version is the full game, which is a blast.

I'd kill for that. But even more, I'd kill for Turtles In Time.

Does anyone play Lumines LIVE on xbox Live?

I have the game for PSP and liked it so much that I wanted to chance to play random people at the drop of the hat. At 1200 points, I thought it was a bit salty, but ultimately thought the LIVE appeal would make it worth it.

Unfortunately, not a single game being hosted online

Alien Hominid has physical trophies for some of their leaderboard stuff.

The Behemoth is the first Developer/Publisher to offer fancy tangible objects made from genuinely simulated metal. Trophies YAY! Those of you who manage to scale the heights of our leaderboards will be crowned victorious!

In order to receive one of these coveted one-of-a-kind trophies, just be the top ONLINE leaderboard scorer in the following categories:

1. Local High Scores posted to the Leaderboard
* Alien Hominid HD - Main Game - Hard Difficulty - Weekly Leaderboard - Based on highest score
* Super Soviet Missile Mastar - Monthly Leaderboard - Based on furthest distance traveled
2. Xbox Live Online Multiplayer high scores posted to the leaderboards on a RANKED MATCH ONLY! (no exceptions)
* PDA Games - Ranked Match - Monthly Leaderboard - Based on highest score
* All You Can Eat - Ranked Match - Weekly Leaderboard - Based on most bowls won/eaten in a week

Rules:
In order to be eligible for this amazing competition you must either be over 18 years of age, or have permission from your legal guardian.

Since our game will be available world wide, if you live in a distant land we will do our best to get your trophy to you, but we can't guarantee anything that is not personally delivered to you by Uncle Sam (I.E. US Postal Service).

High scores are verified on Sunday night at around 7:00pm-ish, or whenever we remember to check the high scores for the weekend.

Note: Weekend activities may prohibit the accuracy of checking these scores before they reset. As you all know we are a small team and we will fairly and accurately base the winners off our best decision making skills (if any).

On Monday morning after we verify the official results (i.e. wake up and get to work) we will contact the winner via the Xbox Live messaging system. Our gamertag is "theBehem0th" and we will request mailing information from you. If you feel that we are stalking your children our full name and address is as follows: Gastronaut Studios c/o Jake and Don. (www.gastronautstudios.com)

If the first place winner does not want our fine genuinely simulated metal trophy on a handcrafted base, we will then contact the second or third place winner, or until we find someone who wants our stuff.

In the event that a user is talented enough to win three times:

1. The rest of you need to raise your gaming skills.
2. The aforementioned super winner will be honored by being placed in our "Hall-of-Fame" section on the AlienHominid.com website this player will no longer receive the weekly trophy. (which will go to the number 2 slot, or 3, or someone) At the end of the year anyone that ranks into the Hall-of-Fame will receive a special award from The Behemoth.

This offer is not valid if your parents/legal guardians do not want you to participate, so be sure to ask them first. In addition the following people are not eligible for awards or trophies:

1. Behemoth/Newgrounds/Microsoft/VMC employees or their respective family. (Sorry Mark Coates)
2. It is also not valid if you live in a region/locale/state that does not allow for these types of activities, please check your local laws, blah, blah, blah.

We reserve the rights to change these rules and regulations and more importantly forget to send you anything because we forgot to check the leaderboards before they reset.

This competition will last until we get tired of sending you guys our stuff.

Good Luck
Definately pretty sweet for them to do this, but I doubt I'll ever creep up to the top of the leaderboards in this one. I also wonder how long they'll keep it up, because it doesn't say how many they have.
