Sweet cover.
Also, it sounds like Gauntlet 2 on PSN this Thursday. |
Tried out the PS3 collector's edition of Spider-Man 3. New Goblin is a shoddy addition. You control him with the motion control and it's impossible. And the only missions are racing missions. He's awful in combat. I would suggest the regular edition.

That sucks. Speaking of total crap that is impossible to control, Super Rub a Dub came out today as well. At least you can demo it to save the $7.
Nice HD trailer of the new Pirates movie added as well. |
I'm waiting for Ninja Gaiden Smegma.
|
Looks like the HOME BETA is out. Reports of people playing it.
Also, Gauntlet II and Super-Rub a Dub is out. |

Hey I thought this would be the best place to find PS2 owners :D
I was wondering if leaving the machine on all the time (with periods of 10 hours a day when it's off because I'm at work) is detrimental to the machine or the game. Also any GHI owners? When I go to career, if I turn it off then on, it loses my progress :( (and I do have a memory card and it does show the saving screen... is this normal?). Thanks ! :) |

New PS3 model rumoured Oli Welsh 14:01 (BST) 04/05/2007 "Insider" points to revision within 18 months - report An Australian technology website has suggested that a revised PlayStation 3 could be less than 18 months away, citing "a Sony insider" as its source. The Smarthouse report refers to the proposed machine as a "PlayStation 4", but goes on to state that it will be based on the same chipset as PS3, differing from the current model only in the "drive bay and attachment area". According to the source, it will also include a software suite for managing streaming of content to TVs and hi-fis, and feature improved output. A Sony spokesperson declined to comment on the story, classing it as speculation. Smarthouse quotes the source as saying, "We have even looked at a Sony home server based on PlayStation technology. This would allow consumers to connect home automation devices to the Sony server while also delivering online gaming and access to an extensive movie and music library." The idea of a full-fledged PlayStation 4 coming so soon after the company's vast investment in designing and launching PS3 is far-fetched. But expanding PS3's abilities as a media server, connected to multiple devices in the home, would be consistent with Sony's oft-repeated vision of PS3 as a multimedia home entertainment centre. The device outlined in the aritcle is also consistent with Reuters' recent report that Sony is considering launching PS3s with larger hard drives, much as Microsoft has done with the Xbox 360 Elite. However, PS3 hard disks are industry-standard components, and users are free to fit larger drives themselves if they wish. Many of the other features described in the story could be achieved by updating the PS3 firmware, with no need for a hardware revision. Chris |
Almost sounds like it may be the PSX of this gen. That one didn't work out well, I doubt this one will either.

But I think if Sony uses the PS3 architecture and then modifies parts of the hardware and software to accomplish this new 'revision', then it might work out. Chris |
Maybe, though like you said, cost will be a big factor. The PS3 is already more expensive than most people want to pay.

 I guess some consoles can take the heat and some can't. I've had the PS3 get turned on by accident, but I keep it in a well ventilated area. The idea of both of those beasts heating up one closed in area is scary. |
Why on earth would Sony think to sell a MORE expensive system when there are PS3s collecting dust on shelves now?

Pssh, I'm already preparing for the Summer - getting my fill of console games and all. Once the intense heat hits, I'll be limiting myself to portable gaming (and maybe XBLA).

I think you should just pack your consoles in dry ice.

Calling All Cars and Rampart (one of my favorite classic arcade games) are both coming out on the Playstation Store today. I'm eager to check out Calling All Cars after all of the delays and the recent David Jaffe tomfoolery.
