You can do Music and Pictures with Windows Media Connect.

You can do Music, Pictures, and Videos (in .wmv format) in Windows Media Player 11.

You can do Music, Pictures, and Videos (in .mpeg, .wmv, .avi) in TVersity. (This works by transcoding the .avi into a .wmv on the fly and streaming the .wmv to your X360, it requires a little PC horsepower, so be warned.)

You still need Windows Media Center Edition to use the full Xbox360 Media Center (Extender) though.

Yep, RichC2 nailed it.

I would also add that you can define playlists, audio feeds, video feeds, audio URLs and video URLs to the TVersity media list. What all this means is that you can stream internet radio stations (like luxuriamusic) as well as videos on the net. But they appear on the media list on the 360 as "local" media stored on your harddrive.

Can I download the whole Fiesta Bowl game between Boise State and OU then stream it to the TV,I already have done some other things. You can get the whole game at Fox Sports and itunes?

What video resolution are you running in TVersity, the default is pretty bad with avi files and I can't even get xvids to play

Thanks

When I set this up about 2 months ago, I could only get 1 internet radio station to show up. I have 2 others added in TVersity, but they don't show up on my XBox 360. It's very puzzling, but I haven't spent much time trying to figure it out.

Any ideas?

Chris

I just installed it and it works with audio and pictures files fine, but I can't get any videos recognized by the 360. I am playing around with it now, going through trouble shooting, etc. Anyone have the same problem that can save me some searching time?

Go to the 360 section of the TVersity forum and follow the instructions exactly as described. Don't skip a step. The only problem I had was caused by skipping a step that I didn't think I needed.

Which instructions? There are many threads there, so I am not sure which one to pick.

I found one that says uninstall all codes and install K-Lite mega Codec so I am in the process of doing that now.

Castlevania to break Live Arcade size limit

Konami says its Symphony of the Night won't fit in 50MB; Microsoft's Greg Canessa addresses implications for future XBLA games.

By Brendan Sinclair, GameSpot

The upcoming release of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night as a downloadable Xbox 360 game is noteworthy for a few reasons. Beyond adding the highly regarded game to the system's catalog, it breaks the mold of an Xbox Live Arcade game in several ways.

Symphony of the Night is not a "small-scale" game in any sense of the phrase. It's based on an existing home-console game, a distinction on Live Arcade only shared by the upcoming Alien Hominid HD. Konami has confirmed to GameSpot that the final size of the Symphony of the Night download will surpass Microsoft's 50MB size limit for Live Arcade games.

Microsoft's group manager for Xbox Live Arcade, Greg Canessa, told GameSpot why the company instituted a 50MB limit in the first place.

"By keeping the file size small for Xbox Live Arcade games, gamers can put one or more games on a memory unit and easily bring those games to a friend's house to share and play," Canessa said. "Small file sizes also mean fast download times, making it possible to download and begin playing any Xbox Live Arcade game within one or two minutes."

Even though Symphony of the Night will exceed the size limit, Canessa indicated that there is still a 50MB cap on Live Arcade games, although Microsoft is willing to make exceptions to the rule. "If any games do exceed 50 MB, it's for a very specific reason that would ensure that the gameplay experience is the best it can be," Canessa said.

Microsoft is willing to look the other way on Symphony of the Night, and according to Canessa, it won't be the last of its kind on Live Arcade.

"Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is one of the most popular games of all time, and you can [bet] that you'll see similar high-quality games come to Xbox Live Arcade in the future," Canessa said.

However, there is at least one Live Arcade rule that not even Symphony of the Night will be breaking. Canessa said that a free demo of the game would be made available to all Live Arcade users, and that it would be small enough to fit on a memory unit.

So I want to set up Live and I am ready to buy the 360 Network Adapter. My question is, I am not sure if my ethernet card is compatible with wireless. Is there anyway to tell. The only thing it says is 32bit PCI 10/100M Ethernet Adapter.

If not compatible, how much is a wireless network card going to run.

Do I need anything else to run Live?

Remakes? I've never played the series, but it sounds promising. Bodes well for MSG4 hitting the 360.

I am guessing that you are talking about your Computers Ethernet card. THis is a wired card and not a wireless card. What you will need is a wireless router/access point. you can connect your PC to the Router/Access point via the wired connection and then use the wireless adapter from the xbox to connect via the Wireless connection.

I would love a pack of all 3 metal gears, redone for 360...with achievements and such. MGS4 is as good as confirmed after this bit of news....

ElementZ 01-12-07 06:30 AM

So I have to get a wireless router AND the 360 adapter.

Are both components absoloutely necessary? Not sure if I am interesting in plunking down $100+ for the adapter and then buying a wireless router on top of that...plus the Live membership

If you have a wired router you can just run the cable from the router to the 360. That is how mine is currently set up (my PC is very close to my 360).

Already been twarted. It's apparently a bogus press release.

KurrptSenate 01-12-07 08:53 AM

this had the be the worst 360 experience yet...

i wanted to cancel my subscription to Phantasy Star Universe. After they updated the game a few months back, it basically meant my 100+ hours spent were for naught, and I'd have to basically start from square one again. Screw that.

I went into my dashboard to try to cancel the automatic billing. Yup, wouldnt let me do it. I was informed I needed to contact their 1-800 number.

After forgetting about it for a month, I finally remembered to cancel it today. I was on hold for 20 minutes, talked to some lady, only to be transferred to a different department. After 10 minutes on hold with them, i finally get another lady who asks why I want to cancel it...

at least that headache is over with. Im never doing that sh!t again

Flay 01-12-07 08:59 AM

I agree that they need an online cancellation option for subscription services. But once you get someone on the phone, cancelling is very quick if you tell them that you don't own the game anymore. They won't send you to the retention department because they simply have no way to respond to that.
