What is the glowing light that is constantly shining out of the back of my xbox when it's off or on?

Is there any way to turn off the friends list when watching a movie on the 360? I will be in the middle of a good movie when the icon appears telling me knothead101 is online. I looked for it just now but couldn't find it.

Well I know you can set you Gamertag to show "offline" or "Away" and such like a Messenger programs. I wonder, if you do that will it still show "friend online" messages? |
Press the menu button on your controller and go into your gamer profile, then gamer profile, then privacy settings. You will still be messaged that someone on your list is online, not sure if this happens during a movie though.

I found this on another forum: It is possible to turn off notifications while movies are playing, but the method to do so is a little obfuscated. It's not in the system blade, and it's not in your gamer profile. Method: Hit the Guide button (the silver one with the stylized green X), navigate down to "Personal Settings" and hit "OK" or the A button. Now navigate down to "Notifications" and hit OK, navigate down to "Show During Movies" and hit OK to deselect it. Now you can hit "B" repeatedly to exit. |

And I second a D.C. vs. Capcom! |

And I second a D.C. vs. Capcom! Activision, which has been the benefactor of several Marvel licenses, worked with developers Beenox, 7 Studios, and Torus Games on the original Fantastic 4 game. Now, with Iron Man going to Sega and Fantastic 4 going to Take-Two, it appears as though Activision is passing up the rights to superhero games that aren't so super. However, Activision still holds the rights to two Marvel juggernauts--Spider-Man and X-Men. |

I'm sorry if this is an stupid question but is there a list of upcoming TV/Movies coming to the Marketplace?
Since the new season of ROME is coming 1/14/07, I was thinking that it would be awesome if they put S1 up so I could catch it. I'd pay for that. |

Well, I think my 2 week old 360 may need to be replaced. I had some freezing issues with Gears of War, but none of my other games. Today it froze about 4 times while I was playing Geometry Wars. I got the E74 code a couple of times, but messing with the video cable fixed it both times.
I want to take it back to Target and get a replacement, but my wife got me the MS extended warranty when she bought it. Does anyone know what happens if I return it to Target? Will I need to call MS and give them the serial number of the new system or do I have to send it back to MS now? |
I was right on Superman Returns being released at the end of the December. It should have been out on the 28th, but got pushed a couple days while the HD version was being prepared.
Anyway, both versions are up for download now. I'm tempted to download the HD version myself, even though I watched the DVD last week. |
