I went with the PS360 myself. I'm sure the Wii will make it sooner or later.

Another Wii60 checking in.
The 360 is just awesome. With the Fall dashboard update and freeware TVersity uPnP server software, the 360 now delivers all of the multimedia capabilities (without the need for Windows Media Center) that MS had promised before launch. I use it for music, photos, and videos almost as much as I use it for gaming.

I only own 3 360 titles (PGR3, Amped 3, Dead Rising) along with the 3 BK games and a few XBLA titles. Viva Pinata is on my list.

The Wii is another amazing console. Built-in WiFi, SD slot, family "message center", email capabilities, channels, GameCube backward compatibility, unique game controller, music/photo/video playback, and the promise of web browser, makes the $250 seem like a downright bargain. My wife has only played the downhill sled crash events of Amped 3 on the 360, but we are playing an hour of Wii bowling nearly every night since we bought the Wii on launch. We have the Wii in our guestroom... We're hoping that it will make a nice web terminal for family to check their email while they are visiting.

At this point in time the PS3 does not offer anything substantially above and beyond what the 360 offers. I do not consider Blu-Ray playback of any worth since I do not plan on moving to hi-def DVD until there is only one standard.

How do you check your email on the Wii? I keep seeing that you can do that, but haven't seen anywhere that's stated how.

I think he means web based e-mail once the internet channel is active.

For Me It's Still Hard To Choose Between The PS3 and The Wii. I Own both but to me they both have their points. Me and My Sister Both Get Much Enjoyment out of both Systems. We can spend a whole day playing Resistance Multiplayer but then we can just as well spend a Day Playing Wii Sports or Monkey Ball. But The Strong Points for me on getting the PS3 Blu-Ray Player and Metal Gear Solid and Oblivion in January. I Mainly bought the Wii because you can't beat it for it's price, but be warned once you play Zelda and Wii Sports it starts getting very Addicting.

I'm really referring to 2 different types of email... The first, your Wii console has an email address of wWii console code@wii.com. I can send email to and from the wii console (but only to those email addresses that I have registered).

The second, as Josh mentioned, when the Internet Channel comes online we'll be able to check web-based mail via the Opera web browser.

Its good that you already have a 360 because if you get a PS3 then you will have the best games when it comes to exclusives and the best overall experience at the end of this generation.

Exclusives for the Xbox 360
Halo 3
Dead Rising
Lost Planet: Extreme Condition
Saints Row
Dead or Alive 4
Blue Dragon
Gears of War
Dance Dance Revolution: Universe
Crackdown
Cry On
Lost Odyssey
Project Gotham Racing 3
forza 2
Viva Piñata
Rockstar Presents Table Tennis
Overlord

Exclusives for the Playstation 3
Resistance: Fall of Man
Motorstorm
Gran Turismo 5
Final Fantasy XIII
Final Fantasy Versus XIII
Devil May Cry 4
Tekken 6
Killzone 2
Afrika
Getaway
Ratchet and Clank
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
Virtua Fighter 5
Lair
LA Noire
Mercenaries 2: World in Flames
kingdom hearts 3
Eight Days
Heavenly Sword
Armored Core 4

These are just some of the hundreds of exclusives announced/out already but I based these exclusives on mass appeal because I'm not sure which type of games you prefer. Now these are only exclusives that have been announced as of now expect many more great games in the following years.

Good luck!

Thanks for all the input guys.

I think I'm probably going to go the Wii360 route and sell the PS3 to offset the price of the Wii. It's interesting to hear everyones thoughts on the matter.

No shortage of opinions here.....

I'm sure that eventually I will end up with a PS3, but I will give them time to work on the bugs and let the exclusives start coming out

Wouldn't the regular Final Fantasy XIII count as an exclusive?

I used to want a PS3 but I just lost interest. There is only 1 game I can think of playing. Plus, there are very few blu-ray exclusive movies out there that I feel like I need but if blu ray doesnt die off, I can wait until the ps3 or a standalone player is in the $400 range.

Good luck with that.

-Edit-

One just closed on ebay for $863 and it was the 60gb model.

$599 + Tax + Ebay listing & Final value fee + Paypal fee = extra $100 in your pocket. Better than nothing I suppose but it won't get you a Frii Wii.

I never said it was going to get me a free Wii. But a 150 Wii is better than a 250 Wii....

If you don't have HDTV skip the ps3, there's no point in paying premium price for HD when you can't use it. Also if you don't have 720p or 1080p HD also skip ps3 at least for now, there are technical issues with ps3 and 1080i only displays.

As others have said, look at the games.
PS3 and 360 will share a lot of games and if you'd like a comparison gamespot or spy I forget which has screenshots of crossplatform games on both 360 and ps3, and amusingly pretty much across the board 360 just looks better and has significantly less framerate problems. So on crossplatform titles you will want to get the 360 version which you already have.

As for exclusives, Wii will have the most unique experience because of the control scheme. Also Wii will have all the nintendo 1st party exclusives. 360's list of exclusives is already pretty impressive: viva pinata, dead rising, gears of war, halo 3 coming up. PS3s list is pretty small and growing smaller as devs cancel their ps3 titles or the exclusive part as I recall the ps3 exclusives list is something like resistance (IMO a lesser version of gears), lair (pretty cool looking!), and upcoming FF and MGS.

From all the info available I would strongly recommend the Wii to the original poster.

When did Mercenaries 2 becomes exclusive to PS3? If it is, M2 is defiinitely a very strong contender for a cross-platform release.

Opened the Wii this evening! This thing is cool! I don't even have a real game yet and this thing is cool. I was skeptical of the sensor bar/wii mote, but Nintendo knows their stuff!

Good choice, I already have a 360 and I am going to get a Wii soon. I figure between those two I will get the graphics + the Nintendo exclusives and unique games. I will get a PS3 when they drop in price, and there are lots of exclusives worth owning.

Mercenaries is made by Pandemic Studios, besides if it was made by Microsoft how did it end up being on PS2?

When we spoke with a Pandemic representative today we learned the developer has softened its tone on the subject of systems. Officially, Mercenaries 2: World in Flames is still only scheduled for PS3, and officially there still is no publisher. However, unlike the staunch rhetoric we heard before, now Pandemic is definitely considering it. "There is a possibility of it coming to Xbox 360," the PR representative told IGN.com. "Right now, we have PS3 development kits and it's on PS3, and there is no announcement, but we're definitely condsidering Xbox 360. There is still a lot of time and we haven't ruled the Xbox 360 out. We'll have some news to announce in the next couple of months."

Mercenaries 2 doesn't have a publisher? The first one was published by Lucasarts (which was obvious because of all the Star Wars/Indiana Jones references). Lucasarts isn't interested in publishing the sequel? I also highly doubt that Mercenaries 2 ends up as an exclusive. Mercenaries and the comical Destroy All Humans spin-off were both on the PS2 and Xbox.

Also, that list above says Armored Core 4 is a PS3 exclusive. Last I heard the game is coming to Xbox 360 as well. Has this changed?

The list also leaves out some 360 exclusive big hitters like Mass Effect, Alan Wake, Bioshock, and Too Human. Well maybe Too Human should be scratched as that game probably will never see the light of day (it's been in development as long as Duke Nukem Forever).

Anyone close to pulling a hamstring swinging for the fences in Wii baseball yet?
