This game blows. Okay, yeah, it was a great game, and it sucked me in, and I couldn't stop playing it, and it was leaps and bounds better than about 99% of the games that have come out before or since, but c'mon. We all know that in 10 years, we're going to go back and play classic games like Madden 2005 and not this dated piece of shit.

I never finished this one. I think I'm actually gonna play through it again but play the GCN version this time. I'll miss the widescreen, but I won't miss the mirrored universe or the waggle...

I loved this game when it first game out, but I never beat it back then. Heck, to this day I still haven't completed it. I stopped playing once when I had to bust the boulder for the Goron. I picked it back up in 2009 at some point and got past that and made it to the dungeon in the air. I stopped playing it at that point, God I hate that dungeon. Anyway, I recently picked it back up yet again to get ready for OoT3D and I finally beat the air dungeon, and then the twilight dungeon as well. I still haven't finished the game, but I'm now right where you go to Hyrule Castle at the end so I'm finally close.
I must say though, once again, I hate the air dungeon...and heck, I hate the twilight dungeon as well. I hated them so much, they bored me to tears and I had to just force myself to complete them both.
It's still one of my favorite games from this generation of systems though, with my my hatred of those two parts.

Well, I have indeed sunk about 30 hours into the GCN version over the last month or so. Finished the Sky Temple so I should be done with this game pretty soon. When all is said and done, I definitely prefer this to the Wii version. It's been pretty good, but for some reason it's taken me 4.5 years to almost finish it (after trying to play through it a couple of times). I'm determined to finish it this time! Haha...

Games like this tend to be very tedious in nature. I finished this game a long time ago and keep thinking about playing it again....but cannot commit to the hours and hours....and hours it will take to finish it again. It was a great game when I played it but I finished it and cannot drum up the mental energy for another play through.

EDIT: Well, by that I mean pick up right where you left off when loading.

I really need to hook up my GC so I can play this as well. Are component cables still hard to come by for the GC?
*according to Ebay, it looks like they are.

I saw this at Costco for 17.xx and almost re-bought it after never finishing it the first time. There's just something about the game that lacks the charm and magic of OoT or the older Zelda games. I really didn't like the wolf thing either. Maybe it was the Wii controls.
Plus the graphics looking like ass on a 16:9 display didn't help.

Are we looking at the same page? I saw tons of Wii component cables for less than $10...granted, most of them were third-party, but still. Years ago only the official ones were available and often cost $40 or more.

Re: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Game of the Century
So, I finally beat this game! I tried going through the Wii version a couple of times when it first came out, but the mirror universe and the waggle bugged me, so I got a GCN copy off of Goozex and decided to give it a whirl this month.
Overall I think I enjoyed the GCN version better. The Wii-mote controls just felt kind of thrown in there. All in all, it was a pretty good Zelda, but it felt like something was missing. Not sure what. It may just be that the game felt really eerie at times. However, I assume that was intentional with the whole Twilight aspect. Also, don't throw stones at me, but a part of me would like some voicework in the game. I'm fine with Link not talking, he and Gordon Freeman can hang out. But when I play something like Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood or something, it just feels like such a richer experience. Of course, TP is from 2006.
Then again, I think I enjoyed Wind Waker a lot more. Maybe it was just the atmosphere or something. I don't know, but bring on Skyward Sword!

I thought the Wii cable was different than the Gamecube one?
