Speaking about graphics, does anyone recall having any slow-down while playing? Even in the most intense battles (Single player campaign) I can't recall experiencing a drop in frame rates. But this may be because I'm caught up in the gameplay and not noticing anything. |

Kenny J. - Buzz Starhopper Played "Hardcore" co-op with someone in the "House of Sovereigns and I also tried out a few versus matches. The only problem I found was that my microphone might not work properly. I could hear the rest of my team, but it seems they couldn't hear me. Overall... the loadtimes and gameplay were pretty fluid. I'm currently on cable (via Roadrunner) and have my 360 connected to a Wireless Linksys Gaming adapter (B) |

Still loving the game. Am in act 4 (hardcore) currently and played my share of multiplayer games (wish there were more maps). I'm getting R6 soon: GOW and R6 will be my best friends until the next great shooter (Lost Planet perhaps?)

Just got a 360 today and this is the first game I decided to play(next will be Dead Rising, Prey and Condemned). Put about two hours into it, and I'm hooked, as are my friends who were over to see it. Beautiful visuals, very intense - I only stopped playing to move the 360 into my room so I can hook it up to my HDTV. I'm enjoying this a whole lot more than Halo 2, that's for sure. Two years in and I still haven't completed Halo 2, just got bored with it...

Wow he's never gotten that far with me. Ive beat him twice in 'casual' mode using my method. Hes usually a good 10 paces away when he falls--after 20 or so headshots. |
My friend told me that same thing. I have no idea why RAAM seems to be coming to get me, whereas he lays back with others. Very odd.

I think I sold 2 more 360s the other day by showing people GoW.

To DVDVampire sorry I didn'tget back last night but this crappy bug is killing me. Fell asleep in the midle of playing so I didn't get back. I'm ready to give the co-op a shot. Heck I haven't even unwrapped my headset yet! I'll check later.
After seeing the reviews of RS-LV I almost picked it up but since I haven't done MP or co-op with GoW I was afraid it might sit and gather dust. Kenny J. - Buzz Starhopper |
I just finished GOW today and wow. Holy crap it was fun. Just wished it was longer. Actually, after getting flustered with RAAM either I figured it out or I got lucky:

Beat it on Casual, working my way thru Hardcore with my friend and the great CO-OP play.
Deathmatch is alright, bit hectic, but I enjoy it. -shrugs- |
I've finished it on casual and hardcore. Now working my way through on insane. I think it's too easy. COD2 on veteran was much harder.

I just finished Gears last night. No offense intended, but what were the two DVDtalk reviewers smoking when they gave the plot a 4/5? :p
Don't get me wrong. Gears was a blast to play, but the story was non-existent. Maybe I missed it, but why were the humans and Locusts even fighting? The game just seemed like an excuse to kill ugly looking aliens for no real reason. Where did you guys get General Raam's name from? I don't remember hearing it at all throughout the game. Really the only reason I even learned some of the creature's names is because of typical scenes like a berserker busting through a wall and a teammate going "OMG it's a berserker!!" or when a swarm of kryll approaches "OMG it's kryll!!" I must have missed the "OMG it's Raam!!" scene. |

As far as names, didn't you listen to the Female who was guiding the team through most of the game? She gave tons of intel.... but if it helps.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gears_of_war |
taffer, you're not the only one who thought the story was week. I thought the single player game was a little short and needed some better writing. Maybe GOW2 will fix these short comings.
