that was just for 2 player mode
that select, start has nothing to do with the 30 lives fyi |
You need to press start somehow to get in the game -ohbfrank-

That's true, you could enter the code and then not play. But under that logic, any code would work ;)
|
nah i was just saying
when people saw the "select start" back in the day (when the game was released), they thought it only worked on 2 player mode, and that it was part of the actual code, and not the desire to want to play 2 players |
Anyone having troubles with UNO. Last night about 50% of the time the screen says "Starting Game" it just stuck there for 5 min or so then a blade pops up and says "cannot connect".
|
I'm having a bit of buyers remorse. Anyone know when more games will come out for the live vision camera? Totemball looks good, but from what I have read it isn't very good. So that leaves it just for letting people watch you as you play Uno and other games on XBLA. Does it work with Texas Hold'em? On the box it shows holdem, but in Live the ad there doesn't list holdem for the camera?
So is it worth keeping it at $28, thanks to google checkout, or should I send it back? |

Totem Ball is pretty horrible but it's free. Other than the Uno type features with the camera there is also face mapping and stuff like that on certain games. |

While the 360 camera support isn't great it is nice to have a decent web cam for my PC again. Totemball is shit unless the light in the room is almost blinding. I'm hoping that the support for the cam picks up a bit but I'm not regretting my purchase at all yet.

Already posted here yesterday or early this AM.

Posted this earlier, but it kinda got lost in the Contra shuffle, so I'm reposting:
I don't follow the 360 news as closely as most of you do, so forgive me if this has been covered recently. I'm looking at maybe getting a 360 in the next couple of weeks, but I've heard some scuttlebutt about a new/redesigned chipset or something coming in the next few months which is supposed to run cooler than the current one (and may have additional benefits). Anybody know anything more about this, and would it be something worth waiting for? I don't absolutely have to have a 360 until Guitar Hero II comes out for it, sometime next Spring. |
Quick question. The HD-DVD drive only has a USB output, which attaches to the actual Xbox 360, right? Meaning, I don't have to go out and buy another optical cable for sound to attach to the separate unit.

I don't know if it's already been posted here but here's a Youtube video of <b>"Blue Dragon"</b> gameplay. I've never seen it being played and although it's not really my thing it looks nice.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=K7ADD7ntl...elated&search= Is this just a knockoff of final fantasy or something? I have never played FF cause they just don't appeal to me, but this looks like the gameplay is just like an old PS2 RRPG I had picked up cheap. Okage I think it was called. The battles looked the same, although with much better graphics. So is this just what MS needs to win some ground in Japan, a total copy of the RPG genre with no real innovation? Or am I missing something here? Is this just another RPG clone or is there something special about this one? |

It actually looks more like Skies of Arcadia. That said the genre is pretty similar across the board on all consoles (J-RPG), and is more reliant on story for it's 'variety' than gameplay mechanics (which haven't changed all that much in the last 15 years).
I'm not sure if Blue Dragon will have anything innovative, but it should be a fun romp regardless. The japanese are great at making innovative quirky games, but apparently aren't much for gameplay innovation with the tried and true. (Then again, neither are americans, hell we release the same game every year :)) |
:) Yeah I suppose we do get the same games each year huh. Anyway, I am not knocking this game in any way at all. I will at least give it a rental. My comments were because it just looks like that old RPG I have, before a fight the creature does a cute little jump or dance and so on. I just figured that with all the hype on this game it was going to revolutionize the RPG genre, but it just seems like they could call it FFXX and it would fit right in.
Anyway, I guess I will keep my camera, perhaps I will try out totemball in a few. Have any of you seen this 5 year old reviewing the new sony PS3 controller while playing a racing game? It kinda seems like a good idea for racing. http://youtube.com/watch?v=RQDWNFJ7IhY |

Every JRPG I have ever seen has the same "pubescent male who has way too many feminine characteristics and a stupid haircut and wields a sword that is five times bigger than he is and his "destiny" is to save the entire world for complete destruction." I would rather play Oblivion or KOTOR or most any western RPG. At least they feature real "role playing".
Am I mistaken, or on the back of the box for the camera, isn't that the arcade texas holdem? I am sure it is. |

Great News! One problem where will all this content be stored, surely not my 20gb HD.
|
I actually read it on Gamespot first :p
Cool idea, but a bigger hard drive really does sound like it should be coming. |
I wonder if content could be saved on an external USB drive. That would solve the issue of drive space for all of the HD content. We'll probably just have whatever larger drive they offer though. :(
|
http://www.engadget.com/2006/11/06/m...loads-for-you/
This link says it can only be saved to the Xbox HD, no external drive. |

Yay! I can finally see the newly remastered HD versions of Star Trek since it's not showing in my area. Hopefully the episodes will be cheap.
