** The Official COD3 (Call of Duty 3) Thread **

Well, we only have 19 more days until COD3 comes out (November 7th). I just found the achievement list for it here.

Good to see they added some multiplayer ones this time around. Some interestings ones:

"Still Ticking - 30 - Complete a mission without dying or using checkpoints."

"Close Quarter Combatant - 100 - Complete a mission without firing a round. Player can make use of melee attacks and hand grenades."

Couple questions for those who beat COD2 on veteran.. I originally beat it on normal then didn't have any games to play so then tried and beat veteran. I'm thinking I'm going to do the same thing to get more play out of it. What is everyone else going to do?

We will finally be able to get a big group of DVDtalkers in and not have to leave anyone out! Giddyup!!

Bit premature with this thread, eh?

I actually enjoyed doing the normal route first, then doing veteran. It made it somewhat less difficult when I knew where the attacks were coming from.

Unless grenades are aplenty in the game, you'd almost have to do melee attacks.

Wow, that's a lot of achievements. Last time I beat the game on normal and then later went back and did each level on veteran. Gives the single player mode some replay value that way. Plus, there's no chance I will get the "no death" and "melee only" achievements on veteran. They needed a couple of vehicle specific achievements. I can't wait to roadrage golucky in a tank.

With all the crap I'm buying over the next month or so, I think I'll rent this one first. I rent my games online and I can have three out at a time, so I'll keep it for a few weeks and see what I think. If I get enough gift cards for the holidays I'll probably buy it then.

I think I must have done something terrible to Deftones in a former life.

I'll still be playing CoD3, I just won't own it on day one. But we'll see...I'm planning to clear out a lot of DVDs and games that are collecting dust, so I might have the money to just go ahead and buy it. You guys need to keep me around - I'm an easy kill.

I'm just messing with you.

I love that we can get up to 24 going. That'll be sweet. I have a few people I know that would like to play. Maybe I'll get them rolling w/ us.

If CoD3 can run on PC, I would play it!

"Close Quarter Combatant - 100 - Complete a mission without firing a round. Player can make use of melee attacks and hand grenades."
That's something I can do that on PC, but I'll try on, eh, controller.

I know (hence the smiley). If I was any good at CoD2, I'm mess with you in return, but you've seen me play.

The 24-person multiplayer sounds like it could really be amazing. That's one thing that's pushing me towards a purchase.

I sure hope they don't have network issues like COD2 v1 had. Especially with 24 people. COD2 v2 lags with 8 people and smoke. 24 people sounds like trouble.

Heck yeah, I'm going to beat COD3 on veteran as well. COD2 on veteran was really frustrating, but man, it felt good once I finished the last campaign

Yep, looking forward to this big time. I'll do the single player the same way, normal & then Veteran. I hope the difficulty is the same, because I loved the challenge that was COD2 Veteran. Many hours were spent getting those 1000 points.

I'm getting this for sure. It may take me a while to find my new camping grounds though, so it should be much easier to kill me the first few weeks.

They sure will, and don't forget Martin. He hates it when I camp in that Russian apartment level.
