Re: The Official PSP Thread - Part 3
Jak & Daxter might be cool. New Kingdom Hearts game. Gran Tourismo Portable.
That's all that springs to mind immediately.
I assume there will be some cool new downloadable games coinciding with the launch of the PSP Go that I believe would also work for the PSP as well, but don't know that for sure.

So...I guess there's a handful of good games on the horizon for the PSP, just not anything that I'm really into.

As for the PSP Minis, those sound interesting in principle, but I'm not sure what they'll offer that won't be available on DSiWare, WiiWare, XBLA, etc. Maybe I'll at least keep the PSP long enough to see what that service will offer.

I was never a fan of Ys. I tried Holy Invasion of Privacy and didn't really care for it. Is there a Thirty Second Hero demo yet?
Jak & Daxter is pretty good, but not a reason for me to keep my PSP. I also tried the Kingdom Hearts games on PS2 and didn't really get into them. I did enjoy Gran Turismo 2 but I've sort of lost my love of sim-style racers.

Anyone try out Shin Megami Tensi Persona on the PSP or familiar with the series? The only one I have played so far was Devil Survivor on the DS and I love it. Would Persona be the same or is it really different?

Ys SEVEN is fucking awesome.
Also, my friend was making a big pretty order directly from the company that makes Ys so she said I could slap a copy of the game onto her order so I wouldn't have to pay shipping, so I'm only out $50, not $65. Now I just gotta stop twitching from how awesome the game is and how I won't be able to play it again for a week. BOO. I should've just pre-ordered it.

Is the image restricted by the software or the built-in display? IIRC, you can feed a stand-alone display with cables to view media. Is that not correct?

That's right. The PSP's that game media use to review/review games have this feature. Don't PSP's have a video out jack for connecting to your TV as well?

Sorry, my original comment was more a continuation of something from the PSPGo thread that had nothing to do with you, the BBS images, or this thread in general.
Over there I asked if PSP games might ever be sold on PSN for emulation on the PS3. One of the responses was they'd look like shit blown up. So there's a conversation to be had about software native resolution, scaling via emulation, or native resolution letter- & pillar-boxed.

I played all of silent hill 0 via the component cables on my PSP. You get black borders around the image but as long as your screen is not too small then it's ok. I didn't notice any input lag.

I only have a PSP 1000 (or whatever the fat one is called) but I don't really see the appeal of playing PSP games on a bigger screen.
I will say that Dissidia has been oddly addicting, and I just received Persona so I expect that to take up some time.
