Yeah, the bug is for anything you have to click on, like warlock summoning stones or mage tables. I got DC'd twice last night because a warlock kept summoning a stone and my cursor happened to go over it. I didn't even click! There's a rumor that it's related to tooltips somehow, and there's a macro floating around the official forums that lets you disable tooltips before going into instances. That is supposed to alleviate some of the problems, supposedly.
I'm enjoying most of the changes, though my hunter kind of feels like he hits like a wet noodle now. My pally has been super fun, though. I'm tanking instances like a madman. He needs a bit more decent gear before Cata hits.

Hmmm, I've been getting a few crashes with 4.0.1 (never had a problem before), but almost always when entering an instance, not particularly tied to the cog mouseover as far as I know.
At least I only have two characters to get set up in 4.0.1, my brother-in-law is going nuts with his nine alts.

yeah, i use the macro to turn off tooltips but i dont have the one to turn them back on so then i cant see stuffl ike loot or spell desriptions unless i log out and back in.

yeah, i got the HH mount on 2 of my characters, and was pretty excited, until I realized that flying around on a horse that doesn't have any wings looks pretty dumb.

Welp, unfortunately my WoW installation was corrupt, one of the Karazahn sound files was all fuxored. And repair didn't work :/. So it looks like i'll be spending the next week re-installing before applying the new patch. Le sigh.

That's cool. I went with the digital download from Blizzard. That way, I will have the game patched and installed in advance and can just log in at midnight (PST) on Dec. 7th.

You can change your config files right now to download everything you'll need before launch. You can find info on wow.com. Only thing I won't be able to do of course is log in at Midnight, and that's fine by me. I wasn't planning on playing until I get home from work, and this will solidify that.

You can change your config files right now to download everything you'll need before launch. You can find info on wow.com. Only thing I won't be able to do of course is log in at Midnight, and that's fine by me. I wasn't planning on playing until I get home from work, and this will solidify that.
It will be 2am my time when the servers come up, so I haven't decided what I'm going to do yet. I have Dec. 7th off, so I may try to get up at like 5am and play or something like that.

So the 4.0.3a patch is up on the PTR and listed as release instead of testing. So it's looking likely for next week.

I've been WoW free almost 3 years, but I'm going to start a lvl 1 when Cataclysm comes out. I quit before Lich King was released, so I need to buy it as well. I see that Amazon has WotLK on sale for $20 today (lowest ever according to camelcamelcamel). Is there any indication of a better price coming up, or is there a reputable source of just getting a key for cheaper? Thanks!

I was thinking of skippng LK since my highest toon is in the early 40s. I can easily see myself buying cataclysm and starting a goblin and never getting to 55 so I can do a death knight.

Unfortunately the battle chest only comes with the original and Burning Crusade. Perhaps they will add WotLK to the chest after Cataclysm is released. I'm really itching to play again, so I won't be able to wait and see.

Well, its still $10 less than it is at Amazon right now. Also, if you are starting over, you won't get any use out of WOTLK until 68 anyway.

I should have mentioned that I still have my original and BC discs and codes. I admit I'm really out of the loop, but do I not have to have WotLK and Cataclysm installed before restarting? I want to restart with Undead just like I did on day 1, so I can see the world changes. Do I not even need the next 2 expansions? If not, I can just wait for a sale when I'm in Outlands. I need to do some googling...

Oh, if you already have an account, then I think you have what you need for now. Only thing you'll miss out on at low levels are the new races and archeology (I believe), unless you get Cataclysm.

Yep, if you have Vanilla and BC, you'll still be able to see the changes and stuff. You won't be able to roll a goblin or worgen, you won't be able to fly in the old world, or have the Archeology profession. You won't need anything else until you want to level past 70 or do the things mentioned above.

Pre-load Cataclysm without buying...from the official forums:
Currently it is entirely possible to pre-download Cataclysm even if you don't have Cataclysm purchased or upgraded. This is very useful to users who plan to buy the game, have bought the game but don't have active subscriptions, or just want to have it handy for when/if they decide to play. Keep in mind that this won't get you Cataclysm for free, it just lets you pre-load it like you could if you purchased the upgrade.
I stumbled upon this in the official forums from a blue who suggested someone do it due to some international issues with their Credit Card.
First, open Launcher.wtf and change SET accountType "LK" to SET accountType "CT" and save
Secondly, open config.wtf and change SET accountTYPE "LK" to SET accountType to "CT" and save.
Notes:
If you do not have the above lines, add them to your file near the top and save.
If you just performed a fresh install your account type may read "CL" which stands for Classic. Just replace that and it'll work fine.
Make sure WoW and the WoW Launcher are Completely closed before editing the file.
Once you have everything situated, you should get roughly 700-4GB of data to download on the Launcher, depending on how you installed the game.
This will give you all the necessary data for Cataclysm. Come DEC 7th you will be ready to play provided your account is upgraded.
Good luck and see you in Cataclysm!
