It's expected to. I would guess if you encountered any problems plating PS1 games on your PS2 you would encounter similar BC problems on the PS3.

By the way, at work we have a reserve SKU for a silver slimline PS2, coming out October 25th. In case anyone was interested.

I'm on my third PS2. Not because they stopped working. But because I sold them thinking I'd never play the PS2 again. I sold my old original style one. Then GT4 came out and I had to buy another one. Then sold that one because I thought I was done. Then Guitar Hero came out so I had to buy another system. I keep thinking the system is going to die but it doesn't look like a shortage of games will happen any time soon. The XBOX on the other hand is pretty much dead.

Picked up Okami. The Buddha Board pre-order bonus it came with rocks. I can't stop messing with it. Easily the best pre-order bonus I've ever seen that wasn't a video game unto itself (i.e. Zelda Windwaker pre-order bonus).

Final Fantasy XII and God of War 2 are the titles that have me sticking with the PS2.

I'm adding another import to my PS2 list that'll hopefully be out by the end of the year!

Sega Ages 2500 Monster World Complete Collection

It'll look nice next to my Sega Ages 2500 Gunstar Heroes Treasure Box.

We're getting The Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess on launch day for the Wii, and already have The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion on the 360. If those don't match the quality of Final Fantasy X and GTA San Andres, then I don't know what does.

Eh, I've got GBA RPGs that are better (have better gameplay and plots at least) than Final Fantasy X.

V and VI not out. IV I'd have to disagree. Probably the fact I played it first on ds has a lot to do with it, but I couldn't get interested in the characters, and the plot was cookie cutter, no surprises (for me anyway). I'm in the moon dungeon somewhere trying to motivate myself to finish it, but really I couldn't care less about how its going to end.

So what other ones? Please don't say golden sun .

Actually I was going to say probably any RPG on the GBA except Golden Sun.

I was going to link a friend to the Sega Ages page to show them the Monster World collection and they had already updated with a couple new games on the list.. one of which was Phantasy Star Collection. Looks like it'll be I, II, III and IV and as their last few collections have had almost every version possible of the games (English versions included) I bet this will be a hot import at the price (about $25).

I got a chance to play God Hand over the weekend.. it's pretty crazy. Looks like it might be the first time someone has attempted to modernize the old Final Fight style beat-em-up and it actually came out good. Voices were already in English in the Japanese version.

Okami today or tomorrow.

Yeah, I've heard some good things about God Hand. The fact that it's a budget title ($29.99) makes it a definite buy for me.

How much does the PS2 go for now? Depending on whether the Wii spikes my interest by spring i might just buy a PS2 somewhere and get in on these cheap games that i never played due to never owning one. Kingdom Hearts and the like would be kind of cool to check out.

They're 129.99. Lot of places offer free games or accessories with a purchase if you look hard enough.

English versions of Phantasy Star? Wow.. pity about the region encoding.
