Trades toward reservations always get an extra 10%

Do you have to spend your in store credit the same day still? Or have the finally woke up and let you save it for future purchases?

I've not traded anything in a long time, but have some crap games I've had problems selling/trading here, and the extra $10 is tempting if I can put it toward a Wii preorder in the future.

Yeah, this would be a great way to unload some of the CC cheapies that I have played and am done with. Thanks for posting the info.

I went in a traded a bunch of GBA games and bought one game and they put the rest on my Gamer's Edge card.

I didn't know about the Trade 3 get $10 deal until I got there.

Too bad the three DS games I got from the CC deal are only worth $3, $2, and $5. With the deal and my Edge card, I'd get $22 for it... about $7 less than what I got them for... and they are unplayed, brand new...

I'm still a bit confused on how this all worked out, but I took advantage of the trade in deal. Thought I would list it in detail here. Maybe someone else can get it to work this well. First my wife preordered a Coral Pink DS Lite by trading in her old GBA SP. No biggie there just $30 off.

Then I traded in 9 games and preordered Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, DQ Rocket Slime and FFIII. Somehow the breakdown for the games ended up like this.

Total received $99.55 which is about $11 a title. I paid less than that for every title but Nintendogs. Very strange, but definitely a good trade in deal. I ended up getting the extra 30, plus an extra 10% for my Edge card, plus and extra 10% for preordering.

I would do it if I can pre-order some 360 games instead of buying a game right there and then.

Figured it out:
Go back on your receipt and see if you paid $34.99 for the Pokemon game (extra 20% toward it if you trade in stuff)... it should show up as $28.01. If it does, then they took the $6.98 off there and didn't "credit" it to you. I'll check my receipt too.

Looks like you got an extra 10% darkside. I did preorder the Pokemon game and should have gotten an extra 10% on the $35 trade-in towards that but I didn't get it (rang up at $34.99 on my receipt).

Oh well.

But I do agree, the receipt divies up the money strangely. I thought I should cal my accountant.

The receipt looks strange because of the way our computers do the math. We don't have any of these promos programmed into the computer, so we have to manually add in every promo. The only one the computer does by itself is the Edge card.

Thanks for working that out. I was lost. Yes, it looks like they rang everything up correctly. However, a friend of mine just told me that he tried trading in there (different EB BTW) and they would not combine the extra $10 with the Edge card or the Pokemon deal. Guess I got lucky. Very confusing deal since different employees seem to ring it up differently.

They should be ringing up all those deals together.

I went to the EBGames one 1604 and 281 (by Marshall's). Carlos (the manager) rung me up both times that day.

I took a bunch of games to EB today and ended up getting $162.50 in store credit for them. Nintendo Wii here I come.

I did a good deal better than I was expecting with the 21 games were all more than a year old with 2 exceptions, and 3 of them ended up not being eligible for the deal (2 2006 sports games and a GBA game).

Works out to $7.74 a game for games I'd listed a few times on the trade forum here, and I probably wouldn't do a whole lot better than that on Ebay after listing fees etc. Not enough for it to be worth putting the time in with my busy schedule right now.

I've got a bunch XBOX games I need to get rid before they lose all their value...

I traded 18 games. A mixed set of xbox, ps2, and gc and got $125 store credit. I probably could let a few more go. I've got about $150 in store credit now counting the gift card I have. They did say that the credit at Gamestop was good at EBgames.

To the best of my knowledge, the credit is not transferrable between EB Games/Gamestop at the moment. Unless they enabled the ability in the past four days. It's also possible that certain regions have it enabled while others don't. Either way, I would ask the clerks at the EB Games if they can take Gamestop credit before you do your shopping.

Like Josh said, not worth my time to list on ebay. I asked about trading in my PSP and they said they would only give $70. I know I can do better than that on ebay.

So, I took 17 XBOX games to GAMESTOP...Boy do I feel like I got willingly molested. Most of my games only pulled between a buck, buck fifty (fuckin' bullshit since they're gonna sell 'em for 15+ dollars, but I digress) but the 3 + 10 deal helped me score about $96 in store credit. Not even enough for 2 360 games. Hey, maybe I'll put it towards a Wii! Anyway, I figure Blockbuster woulda paid less and I don't do EBAY so I guess I shouldn't feel to bad about my phyiscal assault. At least with the deal I feel like GS used astroglide before touching my naughty bits...

And oh, something told me to ask if there were any "Bring 3 get $XX deals" just in case and sure enough, the guy thought the deal was "a long time ago". Luckily the guy working with him spoke up and told him that they just brought it back otherwise I woulda been hosed even worse. But still, I have a feeling something ain't right.

So to get the extra %20 do you have to put it towards the pre-order? Can you then change it to just store credit?
