Ugh, a friend of mine invited me to his poker table with his friends. Buy in was $20000, blinds were 50/100 I think. Anyway, I had AK, and raised before the flop, and one guy calls. On the flop there is another AK, so I have 2 pair. I go all in, and the guy says, "what the hell, its fake money" and he calls. It turns out he had nothing, and was chasing a flush, which he got after the turn and the river. So just like that my bankroll went down by $20,000. Sure, it IS fake money, but with no consequences, I might as well just go all-in on every hand.

My friends and I were doing 50k buy in. I only had 37k but figured what the hell. It was fun. I'm 50k in the hole now. Unfortunately we were at a table where some 12 year old was going all in on pretty much every hand. He had the "what the hell, it's only fake money" - "there's a cheat for unlimited money" - "who cares" -mantra. It got old real quick. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a way to boot players, which sucks because there were 5 of us together that had to leave the table and get another one going.
Left him feedback though so I don't end up playing him again, even though the odds are slim.

I realize that Microsoft has no incentive to do this either, but it would be nice to win the new steering wheel, Microsoft points, headphones, etc if you were to win tournaments. Hell, even EA had prizes for winning Tiger Wood's tournaments a few years back.

So, does anyone know if MS is coming out with a wireless receiver so you can use your wireless controller with your PC? Just curious...I heard rumors they were, just curious when.

Next Gen Consoles Held Up by Last Gen Disc Speeds
Last Friday, I spent the morning visiting Volition. They are the game developer responsible for the Descent series, Red Faction, Summoner, The Punisher and the upcoming Xbox 360 title Saint's Row.
Adam Pletcher is a Volition veteran and technical artist on Saint's Row. He translates artistic vision into strings of code and is concerned with the 360's number-crunching power every day. What does he see as the biggest technical problem in the new system?
"The streaming stuff."
"The Xbox 360 is a wonderful machine and we can do a ton more, but one thing that hasn't changed is the dvd transfer speed," Producer Jacques Hennequet explained. "It's become the new soundbarrier."
And his colleagues agree. With all the worry about graphics chipsets and processor cores, no one questioned the transfer speed of DVD. Sure, Sony has talked about blu-ray until they've become blu in the face, but early blu-ray players aren't significantly faster than standard DVD: the same speed players we will see in the PS3. Can DVD technology get faster? Blu-ray can. Theoretically 12x blu-ray could reach transfer speeds of 400mb/s while 16x DVD only clocks in at 21mb/s.
But such is a moot point. Sony and Microsoft cannot simply put faster drives into their existing console platforms. The very idea of performance-based upgrades applies to PCs, not game consoles.
For my final interview of the day I spoke with Randall Turner, Engineering Architect on Saint's Row. (I hope that's his title - a very loud fan from a PS3 dev kit really messed with my audio). Before video games, Turner worked for the military developing software for multiprocessing computers, his area of expertise.
"The amount of data we need to display one building [in Saint's Row] is 4 times that of Xbox - maybe more, actually," Turner explained, "...probably more like 8 times as much."
And all that data has to come from somewhere, Turner explained. Even with games like Saint's Row utilizing 90% of the 360's processing power, even with advanced development tools not available to true first generation 360 titles, even with more efficient coding that programmers are bound to design, titles on the 360 (and PS3 for that matter) will always be limited by the narrow bandwidth of DVD technology.
"What I see as potential solution is in the next, next gen, [is] an increase in ram that is so enormous you can store gigabytes [in the ram]," Hennequet said.
I asked if a bigger hard drive might be a solution - even in this generation of consoles. "Even the hard drive is not going to be fast enough," he replied.
But despite the bandwidth limitations, Volition feels optimistic for the future of the Xbox 360 platform.
"We have tons of room to grow," Turner promises. "From first to second generation it's not even hard."
We'll see what he says in three years. – Mark Wilson

CompUSA is closing certain stores so right now games are 20% off. It may get better as closing day approaches but then again it may not. Either way, getting expensive 360 games and accesories for 20% off ain't too bad. Hell, anytime you're paying less than $60 for 360 games you're doing pretty good.
Anyway, there are 2 stores near me here in Torrance CA and one of them is closing. I've seen 360 memory cards, Headsets, cables, Hard Drives, contollers(wired and wirelsess), and other 360 stuff.

Wow, I remember going to the City of Industry store back in the mid 90's. It was the first CompUSA in the area. It took me almost an hour to drive there from Glendale, but they had some cool stuff at the time.
Now you can find everything everywhere, so places like CompUSA are not that special anymore.

Aquaman: Battle of Atlantis...I heard this game sucks bad.
Yet another DC based game they fucked up.
The Suffering...cool game but I already finished it on XBOX. Perhaps I'll try for one of the other endings on the 360. I have the sequel and I hope they BC that soon too.

Texas Hold Em players:
Is there some way to cheat in the multiplayer? Or is there some sort of glitch?
Because twice - TWICE - I have won all-in bets with multiple players, and after the play it basically says I've won the hand, but then I'm out... and it says I finished in whatever place. The last time I had pocket kings at the start of the hand, with 4 others going all in... and I got my 3rd king on the river to cement it. I won $2500, and then my frickin game was over!
I would at first believe this was just my net connection dropping out, but this has ONLY happened when I WON an all-in bet with multiple participants. Somethings going on, and it makes me not want to play it anymore.

Not a single one of those games help me. Glad to see they're still working on it, though.
I am, however, excited to see confirmed that LSW2 will be BC from day one. That means I'll get the original xbox version so I can take advantage of the import feature now and know I'll be able to play it on future hardware should my Xbox ever die or I get around to upgrading.
Whether or not the import feature works between LSW1 and LSW2 when both played via BC doesn't matter to me at all. It'd sure be neat if it worked, though!

I'm reading up that there IS a glitch where if someone disconnects their cable a the beginning of the game then they will automatically win. I wonder if that happened to me? Either way, I'm not playing multiplayer again until I've read they fixed that. Even if that didn't happen to me, it's b.s.

Xbox Live users in the U.S. can now download the full length TV show 'Battlestar Galactica: The Story So Far' in standard def from the Xbox Live Marketplace. Just in case you are wondering, this marks one of the first times that a complete TV episode has been digitally delivered to your Xbox 360 over Xbox Live. The file size is 492.20 MB.
