Okay, so how do you transfer files from the regular Xbox to the PC?

There's a similar device... I think the Action Replay or Gameshark or whatever it's called can do it. Because the Xbox was not "hackable" like the PS2, the gameshark/action replay is actually just a memory card with downloadable saves... but you can use it to download any saves you want.

So neither products (OP's item and MasterofDVD's link) will allow you to copy mp3s or videos to the 360, right?

Is this really that different than just using a standard USB memory card instead of a 360 memory card (which I'm assuming you can't connect directly to a PC)?

Vryce, YGM.
I'm going to try this out. Just got a memory card from eBay for $30 shipped and the transfer kit from BB.com. Are you able to un bundle your saves? I would like to try the Burnout theme and car. Will those 2 items be too big for gmail (channaman at gmail dotcom)?

MegaUpload is free. Why not just d/l there instead of messing with email?

What I did was format my memory card and just added what I wanted to backup. In this case the 6 items above. It saves it as one file so there is no re-doing it without going back to the 360 and removing what I don't want -> then backing it up again as a different save file.

Not sure if or how small it would be with fewer items.

I didn't save the link, maybe Vryce can post it. Or I can re-up it tomorrow.

I can post the link later.
I don't like the software and the setup. You basically have to back up your whole memory card and save that.
You can't just pick and choose what you want to save off the memory unit.

And I can't figure out a way to transfer save games to and from the unit either. Unless you do an entire backup.

I found one save game online that I want to get to finish the last remaining achivements in Condemned so I can trade it in.

I finished the game completely, but because of a glitch, I didn't get 5 achievements I should have gotten.

I downloaded the save game, but there is no way with that software to put it on the memory card.

I haven't tried it yet, but can't you just put the file in "My Documents" (or wherever you designated), and the software will see that? Then you could use the software to transfer back to the MU.

Did you try the one I uploaded? Did that one work?

The memory unit software only recognizes the file extension that it creates. It doesn't recognize any other file format.

I was able to use the one you uploaded. I save a backup of my memory card and formatted it. Then used the software to copy your file to it. Copied off the files to my 360 hard drive.
Then formatted the card and put my memory unit and restored the backup.

A bit of a cumbersome process, but it seems to have worked.

I think if you use the 3rd party software that I mentioned eariler, you can choose individual files. I think something on lik-sang.com had something about it....I'll try and find a link.

Found it:

Thanks DJ. I'll give that a shot.

And I too would love the other Burnout cars. I haven't found them anywhere. Just the 360 car.

I can't get xplorer 360 to see the memory card. It keeps responding that it can't find a FATX drive.

I unistalled the usb drivers that came from datel again and still have the same issue.

**EDIT**

Okay.. I have it working now. Man, that was a pain.

You can't just unistall the drivers and then use the ones on that link. Because the Datel stuff is there.
I had to actually do a system restore to a point before I installed the Datel thing.
Then, I put in the usb unit, and it detected it and looked for drivers. Pointed it to the drivers in the install file. Now, I an use the program and see the memory card.

I was having the same problem, followed your advice now it works. What a pain in the rear.

Want to test it out Vryce?

Burnout 360 Car (64kb)
Burnout Theme (4MB)

Not sure on the others, they don't have names, just long strings of characters.

The save games are all in a directory under Content. I was able to copy over a condemned save. But the person didn't have all the pieces to get the remaining achivements I have.

I found all the birds and metal pieces in that game. Yet I don't have the achievement for finding all the birds and metal pieces.

Thanks for the update...I will probably get one eventually as I have been following this for a while. I guess now I know not to install the Datel drivers whenever I do get this

From the link in the article, you won't be able to get achievements.

Where are you looking for save games to download? Or is it just a friend?

Some games you can load up the save game file and you can get the achivements.

http://www.360gamesaves.com/

I tested it with Full Auto, and it gave me almost all the achivements. I had to race once with the loaded profile, but it gave them to me.
The Masters ones I had to race on my own to get those achivements. The save game didn't have them beat.

I'm going to be trading in that game and wanted to test it out. Condemnded I beat myself, but the game glitched me out of a few achivements. I'm not the only one that it happened to.

Well, this really makes achievements pointless....Not sure why one would do that, do you get a cookie if you have more achievements

I'm not into cheating like that(I'm a finish the game on hard kinda guy), but I can see myself using this if anything glitches on me.

Some people are all about the points. They rent games and try to get the points as quick as they can.

I like the points, but I like actually earning them myself.

The Full Auto was a test to see what would happen.

I was of the same mindset as Michael Corvin, that you wouldn't be able to get the achivements either.
But, it appears that you can get them.

The main reason I bought the unit was to get my Halo 2 custom gametypes from my original xbox memory unit to my 360. I can't do that, it seems. But, if people can share gamer pics and themes and things you get from magazines or kiosks, that is another reason I bought the thing.

Unfortunately, it seems like you need the custom drivers to separate out individual saves. This limits the amount of sharing that will go on... I hope Datel updates their program soon. I'm astonished that they save everything in one big blob, when it's possible to separate out the saves...
