While I never get 384, my average each time I test my connection is around 350 down.

That's my router, and it's sweet as hell.

I don't think it will help you much though; but is certainly wouldn't hurt.

Again, your 128kbps upload will be fine for just joining games. Most games apparently require about 128kbps per player. Thus, as long as you aren't hosting, it will work fine if your connection is otherwise solid. You can have the fastest upload in the world; but if you have a bad connection with significant packet loss, then you are going to have lag.

The "gaming router" is nothing more than a router with QoS that identifies and prioritizes gaming packets over other data that you may be transferring. As long as the Xbox is the only thing using your Internet connection while you are on Live--i.e. someone isn't downloading files or surfing the web on your PC while you are playing on Live--then the gaming router isn't going to make a difference. With 128kbps, you should make sure that only your Xbox is using the Internet when you are on Live. If you can't do so (i.e. your wife, roomate, etc. needs the PC), then yes the gaming router may help you by making sure that the Xbox gets priority over everything else. BTW, you can accomplish the same thing as this "gaming router," and with more options, using a router that supports the DD-WRT firmware, which also has QoS.
