Actually Virginia is really beautiful, they have rolling green hills in the spring/summer, super slutty girls, beaches. All WV has is a spitoon in the middle of some guy's dirt floor and a penthouse from 1972.

I got home too late last night - by the time I logged on, everyone was gone. Oh well. If any of you see me on Live, send me an invite, I'm always up for some Burnout.

Of the people in the Gamertag thread, 29 of them recently played Burnout.

^ dayum. With that many people it shouldn't be hard to get the online achievements.

Bummer you can only have 6 people to a room. We'll just have to have multiple rooms i guess. As long as Canis is in my room so i have someone to bully around

I got my 5 in a row achievement off Canis
And i think i'm a couple up on flashburn maybe?
I should get my 4 year old boy who's currently playing this game right now to play against Canis...

Yea, I got tired of waiting for a spot in your room last night and just gave up and went to bed. Sucks that you can only have 6 people in a room, but understandable at the same time.

Finally played on Live last night, not with anyone here though. This is a fun-ass multiplayer title. Probably played for about 4 hours. Not sure how the longevity will play out, but right now I'd put it up there with Halo 2, probably the second best Live title out there.

I got to join our forum crew tonight for a bit and it was a good time.

I wish I knew what was causing the static issues everyone said was coming from my headset. I'd be all for getting a new headset if I thought it would fix the problem. The only reason I stopped playing was because I didn't want to force everyone to listen to the excess noise.

That's odd. That(headset issue) happened to a friend of mine the other night on Burnout. Is it only in Burnout? He fiddled with it and got it to stop, I'll ask him about it next time I talk to him.

I've had no other problems with any other 360 games online to date. I called my buddy after I left the game and asked him if he's ever had an issue with my headset when we play and he said things had been fine.

I played for about an hour or so with the guy who was ranked #1 as of this afternoon. I'm not an expert player, so maybe everybody knows this but me, but he had some way of quick-starting which got him a huge lead quickly, so that the races were pretty much over from the start unless he crashed. It was still a fun time even if he was usually over a mile ahead of me within like 30 seconds - a couple of times someone in our group beat him and we all cheered. I finished second once within 10 seconds of him, so I was mighty proud of that. The only thing that sucked was when you were in front of him at the start, you had to be ready for his jackrabbit take-off, which would put him up your tailpipe immediately. That's how he got his one takedown on me (the rest of the race, I rarely the saw him). The funny part was if we lost a player, someone new would eventually show up in the lobby, and within 10 seconds you'd hear "holy sh-t, he's ranked #1?!"

edit to add: apparently this guy is getting a bad rep (checking a few other boards) for only playing one or two tracks (that he has apparently mastered) and only racing for one lap. I guess I wasn't really paying too much attention, but thinking back on it, it's true.

anyone else trying for the contest? if so, i wonder how(when) you know if you are the hour's top scorer. I hit $20 mil, but I don't know how that ranks. I see someone scored $40 mil on Exploding Bay at some point (not sure if it was even during the competition)

I got in a few good hours of Live play with forum people on Saturday night, and it was amazingly entertaining. Burnout is definitely the best Live game I've played so far, and the single player is really good too (especially the Crashbreaker races). I would've played more Live matches yesterday, but I was too busy with other things, plus I had just picked up GRAW and wanted to use my limited gaming time to try out the single player campaign. Hopefully some people will stick to the schedule posted in the DOA thread, and Thursday night will be Burnout night.

Miyu and Martin are still on my list. Had both of them with 4 take downs by me. I just needed 1 and I get an achivement. But no, they get a cheap ass takedown.

Yes, I'm never going to let that go until I get my achivement. Everyone single one of you has it and I keep getting denied.

And Czar has one that I might not see for a while, finish a series in first place against 5 other rivals.

My scores are usually settled one way or the other before the series is over. And I never finish first due the likes of Czar racing away in first place and never looking back.

Czar is afraid to exchange a little paint he runs away like a little girl. I've come so close to getting that beating five rivals achievement a couple times now, but then someone will get a takedown on me

Oh BTW Canis don't mistake my takedown for cheap that was all skill buddy!!

lucky: only 6 people in a lobby. Not enough for the amount of people with the game, but fun once its filled.

Martin: yeah.. hmm.. keep telling yourself that buddy. That was about as cheap as they come. Like the one on Miyu. I tap his car from behind, drive away after it didnt' spin him into a wall, hit traffic and crash. he gets the takedown and score settled.

Once we get enough people on though we could easily set up multiple lobbies. We just need to find someone who has a decent enough connection (like Czar does) that will allow everyone to join. Maybe as more people start getting the game we should run some tests and have diff people make lobbies and we all try to join just to see.
