Old Games That Are Still Impressive Graphically

SMW2, which I still think is the best looking game of all time.
I might add any games in the Metal Slug series. To me, most SNES games looked really really good, even today.

I'll second a link to the past and yoshi's island.
I think super mario worold and super metorid look damn good as well.
SNES and genesis games have held up well for the most part, some of the NES games don't look so hot today though.

I would have to say many of the Capcom games of the era, such as Ghouls 'N Ghosts, Final Fight, Street Fighter II, Knights of the Round, etc. still look good to me.
I would also say many of the Neo Geo games still hold up, if that's not considered too powerful of a system for the topic.
How about Rayman?
Another game that I think still looks great is the somewhat obscure platformer The Adventures of Lomax for PSX.

For most new phones, you can send it via bluetooth. Or you can just dump the file on to your memory card if it's removable.

As long as games look "cartoony", they hold up pretty well. It's when they go for "realism" that games age badly.
Wind Waker, for instance, will always look good...forever.
Every SMB...every Sonic...all the Capcom fighters...tons of shooters...every Zelda except the N64 ones...every Metroid...Crash Bandicoot...Adventure Island 2...Blaster Master...Contra...Punch Out...many more.
As long as the framerate wasn't a problem, any artfully done sprite game done in a "cartoonish" way still looks terrific today, and will forever.

Perhaps the worst looking games are the early forays into polygonal, 3D games. Ugh.
