I have to finish the main story line. Those are the last 4 achievements I need.
But I'm having fun leveling up, and exploring, and doing all the side quests. There are a ton of them outside of the main story line and the guild questlines.
I think my latest save game is around 102 game hours.
I'm hesitant to do it yet because I've read that after completing the main story line, there are no more oblivion gates. I need to close a bunch, for one of the master trainer quests. She wants more gates closed.

You are correct though, there are no more gates now that the main story is complete. Although they got really annoying, I wish I had taken more time to close some more of the random ones. I wasn't expecting the main story to be so short...

I just bought a house and it was empty, so I went and bought a bedroom set from the local goods store. I received a note saying I would receive a bedroom set shortly, how long does it take before you get anything. Are you suppose to just wait around ?

My alchemy is not that low, but I have stopped using it since it is one of my main skills and I do not want to level due to alchemy, and be super weak in a fight.
I have the strat guide so I know about the DB story line, and I have been looking for alternate sources for the poison. Right now the only way I can make is Daedra Venin and Clannfear Claws which are both rare to me as I have been doing other quests besides the main one.

I tried the third person view. It was actually worse!
It's not so bad as long as I don't turn around too much and keep as little of the horse's head in view as is practical. I'm kind of looking forward to upgrading to a faster horse actually. The Elven armor looks really cool.

Managed to become the Arena Grand Champion last night. That was fun. Working my way through the Mage Quest still, while doing all the misc. town quests as I reach a new city.
I'm about 85 hours in and only have about 250/1000 points. I'm not very effecient at this game!

Any tips on killing Will-o-the-Wisps? I'm towards the end of the Fighter's Guild and I have to clear out some cave with Trolls and Wisps. The trolls are giving me enough trouble, but the wisps are really annoying me with their magic.

Last night I was robbing stores. Were do they keep the good stuff? Like the enchanted pieces? I could never find them to steal.
Also, does pickpocketing someone who is asleep usually wake them up?

get either a silver or daedric weapon, also if you have the abillity enchant it. you can enchant it if you are high enough in the mage guild or I think you can just use a sigil stone you get from closing any oblivion gate to add an enchantment to the weapon.

It is tough find anythign really food at the stores. It is mostly mid-range stuff that you fence to buy the good stuff. What irritates me is the mage staff store that visuall has staves in cases that you can't open an steal. I just wish they would show up as empty because that breaks the whole immersion experience for me.
Also, pickpocketing someone asleep will work based on your stealth and their stealth. Mine is really high so frequently i can pickpocket them while asleep. For instancein my house i think i have a stolen key for every shop in the imperial city.

Does anyone know where on your status screen it would indicate that you're sick? When fighting I've contracted the vampirism disease and something called red rage. However the only indicators that something was wrong, besides when it told me I contracted it, was that my stats were red instead of normal color. Is there something I'm missing or is that the only way you know you're sick. I'm hoping that there's some screen I'm overlooking that says specifically that you've been poisoned or you have red rage etc, or that your ok.
-thanks

I wondering I got pretty far with my character, I was thinking of making a new one maybe a mage. Will this erase my old character and reset the world where everything is locked again example the oblivion gates would be open again.

RPG is fastest-selling Xbox 360 title, say latest NPD figures
As Take-Two announces that more than 1.7 million copies of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion have now been shipped, market research firm NPD has reported that it's the fastest-selling Xbox 360 game released so far in North America.
Those figures are specifically for shipments, rather than representing the actual number of copies sold at retail; Take-Two has yet to confirm sell-through figures for the game, which debuted in the UK charts at number one before being knocked off the top spot a week later by EA's The Godfather.
However, according to US market data firm NPD, Oblivion was also the best-selling PC game for March in the region - followed closely by the Collectors' Edition - and accounted for around 13 per cent of all PC game sales in the first week of its release.
"The development team at Bethesda promised and delivered the first true next generation role playing game experience," commented Take-Two president and CEO Paul Eibeler.
"We are very encouraged by the worldwide consumer demand for Oblivion."

Last night I finished the quest that gets you the cure for vampirism. It sounds like a lot of people enjoy being a vampire, but I found it really annoying to have to feed every night in order to be able to walk around during the day, so I took the cure. I also discovered a little glitch (spoilered in case you want to resist the temptation to get tons of gold with very little effort):
Unfortunately, I ran into a really awful glitch today. It's part of the Mages Guild recommendation quest line - the part where you have to get the Cheydinhal recommendation. It involves going into a well to find a person who has an item you need to retrieve. I first attempted it a while back, but didn't have the proper spells to stay underwater long enough to get the item, so I left that quest alone and did other stuff. Now that I have the needed skill, I went back to do the quest, but the guy wasn't in the well anymore. I was very confused, but a Google search revealed that it's a bug that lots of people have encountered. Apparently, after the first time you go in the well, you have 3 days (in game) before the guy in the well disappears forever. This means that I can't get the Cheydinhal recommendation, so I can't advance in the Mages Guild. Bethesda is supposedly working on patches for both the PC and 360 versions, although they haven't announced exactly what the patch will fix. I really hope they fix this glitch - it's a real pisser not being able to progress in the Mages Guild. I figure I have enough other stuff to do between the main quest and the other guilds in the meantime, but this bug is quite a pain. Just a heads up for players who haven't done this part yet - wait until your Alteration skill is 25 or higher before you do the Cheydinhal Recommendation quest.
