What happens if you get bit again and you've already used the cure? I guess just get to a temple quickly.

I had some guy at a farm chase me when I was in his house. He wasn't too happy when I drank his wife's blood.

Lock picking is two fold. You have to listen for the click, and there is a rhythm to the tumblers, which is fast-slow. Flip each tumbler a few times to see the rhythm before you try to open each one. Between learning the rhythm and listening for the click, I can now open just about any lock with 1 pick, until I get lazy and go too fast.

Looks like some future content to download for this game may be coming out. And at the same price. They list a price of $1.99 for the downloads, as it appears its for the PC game. But the price works out to 200 MS points. The two additional items seeme to be mage related and probably wouldn't interest a person that isn't a mage.

$1.99 for plug-ins? Pretty ridiculous considering the official Morrowind plug-ins were free.

Sweet! I'll jump all over them.

Question on the horse armor though? Is it an actual item you put on the horse and take off its corpse if it dies or does any horse you get automatically have the armor once you have done the quest?

I really wish people wouldn't buy these things. You are just encouraging them to do this more often.

I think something like horse armor should be no more than 50 points, and I further think that people who bought the Collector's Edition should get a code or something to get them for free.

I spent $70 on this and $20 on the guide. $90 is enough. I paid $60 for Halo and played it for hundreds of hours. I am sick of these games ripping us off.

I'd get the patch if it made horses useful. As it stands now, I can travel faster without using my horse. The other two items seem to be somewhat interesting. I hope they continue offering these. At $1.99, it's not really a rip-off and is barely the cost of a soda. But, imagine ten or twenty of these add-ons. I'm not paying more than $10.00 total on extra Oblivion stuff. They better package all these things together.

Co-op mode would be ridiculous obviously.

Normally, I would agree. BUT, this game is really, really good. I think they are doing a fantastic job offering the regular/collectors editions and downloads.

Im not going to complain about a quality product....If these extras allow them to put out more great games, then im all for it.

Now, the companies that put out crap AND expect us to purchase these kind of things, thats ridiculous.

I've found them in two places so far and came out with about 20 from each place, so they're usually availble in pretty decent quanitites if you can find them. Just east (and across the river) from the Imperial City is Vilveran. It has the Weylkind and Varla stones in it.
IIRC, Vilveran is west of the Imperial City. Just wanted to make sure in case someone goes searching for it. Or am I thinking of another dungeon with those stones near IC?

Hmm, I thought Vilveran was northeast, but I could be wrong too.

Yeah, I do all that stuff too. And I still sell them books

I just checked the map...it is North East. It's almost directly East of the place where you first leave the Jail/sewers of the Imperial City when you first start the game and enter the outside world for the first time.

Downloaded the horse armor last night (the Live Gold thing I picked up came with 200 MS points), but haven't had a chance to try it out yet.

And I managed to score several staffs last night while taking out some necromancers for Meridia's shrine. Fireball and Greater Weakness I think...both area affect and 30 pts of damage for a few seconds. Finally found something that can kill those damned Will of the Wisps! Now I just need to load up on Soul Gems as they burn through charges like crazy.

Within a week I think this game will become my most-played (most hours-logged) on the 360.

The Oblivion Community has put together some really cool mods for the PC version. I've got about 20 or so installed at the moment. They vary from graphical enahancements to gameplay tweaks to complete overhauls of the character advancement system, which in my opinion kinda sucks as is. Some of my favorites are:

Dz's Simplified Leveling
Better Water
Saddle Bags
Visual Enchantments
Brighter Torches
Better UI 2.20
Improved AI Combat

Those are just a few. Mods are probably the biggest reason I went with the PC version.

-EDIT-

You can find links to all those mods by going to thread I've linked below...

Cool. There's another dungeon west of IC with those stones too. I'll have to look the name up later.

So I finished the main story last night. It was MUCH shorter than I was anticipating. It took me less time to complete it than any of the guilds I did (except for the arena). The ending was actually really cool but I find myself wanting more. It took me hundreds of hours of gameplay in Morrowind to get to where I am now in Oblivion which I've played for about 65. I will however continue to play to complete as many of the side quests as I can. I was just given an offer to become a vampire hunter. I think I'm going to do that for a while then become a vampire myself.

Question:

I am trying to do the thief mission where you steal the tax records. Every time I try it I get arrested as soon as I leave the captain's quarters. Any help?

You need to go during the daytime when the majority of the guards are out of the barracks. There will always be two guards sitting near the first ladder, but the rest of the rooms should be empty. Just try to scale the area as quickly as possible and get out just as fast. Use sneak of course.
