Still not sure if I want one, but the husband of one of the girls I work with works at Walmart. He says they have them in stock but aren't allowed to sell them till January which may explain why someone was being told earlier they were in but then nowhere to be found. He has seen them and they are all premium systems. They won't even sell them to the employees. He has been told to tell customers they don't have any and don't know when any are coming in. He is looking at transferring departments since he is tired of lying to the customers. I don't see any reason for them to lie to me, but other than tax reasons I can't think of any reason to hold the systems back.

My Etoys bundle shipped via UPS! I selected standard shipping, mistake, but when I went to track it they shipped the thing from within my state(Harrisburg, PA)! Can't wait to get this thing.

Well, I'm done. I went to Best Buy this morning. I was in yesterday and 3 separate employees told me they wouldn't get any until after Christmas. I stopped by at 7:45 this morning anyway and, sure enough, there were 6 people waiting in line, all saying they'd been told, by Best Buy employees, to be there at 8 to get one. So I'm thinking 'well, it's bullshit they didn't tell me they were getting them when they did tell these other people, but at least I'm good to go.' Then the manager comes out and is like, 'I have two left, who are the next two in line?'

Turns out there were a lot more people than just 6 and Best Buy opened their doors half an hour early to start selling them. They must have let the other people in before any of the six I was waiting with got there, as they all seemed pretty surprised. I walk in and there are 20+ people checking out with Premium systems. I told the manager he did a shitty job of running his store and left. Oh well. I think I'm just going to put the money towards an HDTV, wait until the PS3 comes out and decide which system I want then. I'm just pissed I still have a ton of Best Buy giftcards, meaning I'll have to buy the tv there. Other than that purchase, I'll be avoiding giving their store any business for a long time.

My Wal-Mart just told me that - as of January 1 - they will no longer be accepting any returns without a receipt. YMMV

My TRU has a couple in stock this morning. You had to buy four games with it, but it was your choice.

Yikes, that would suck if it's true for all the stores. Unless they start using the system Target, Circuit City, and Best Buy use which is being able to look up your purchase with the card you used.

So you paid $429 for $460 worth of items. I'd say that's good.

Yeah, but still have to buy HD Cables, Headset and a Wireless.

Though I would have had to buy a wired or wireless as a second pad w/ the premium, so only the HD Cables and Headset count. $29 for HD how much are headsets?

Picked one up this morning at the Best Buy in Monroeville for the folks in the Pittsburgh area. I had gone to the Best Buy nearest me in in North Hills and the said they didn't have any. Went home called a couple of Costco's who didn't have any then called the Monroeville Best Buy for the hell of it. I was kinda surprised when they said yes. That was at 8:18am. I went to the video games section and they told me they were selling them from the customer service desk. When I got there they said they were half way through their shipment which was about 22 Premium systems. No lines no fuss. In and out in 10 minutes.

Hmmm. I wonder what the Playstation 3 launch is going to be like?

SCORE!!! I got to my BB at 7:30 expecting some line. No one was there, so I was a little nervous. A couple people show up just as the doors open and I get the third ticket. The girl at the service counter had no clue what was going on. The manager came over and said they received 19 units and to only give one per family. I also picked up another wireless controller, Kameo and COD2. I used two of the $10 off coupons as well. Nice Christmas at our house this year.

Best Buy in West Omaha, Nebraska had a line at 7:55 am when I stopped by. They started handing out tickets right at 8am. I walked in and got the last ticket, number 26. All were premium systems.

ps. Now I have to return the core I bought at launch but haven't opened. Some lucky person will get it later today I'm sure. That will be a nice surprise for someone on Christmas.

Headsets are $20 I think. I am not going to use mine, I'll sell it to you if you need one. $10 plus shipping. I have a wireless controller I need to unload, too. Unopened. You can have both the headset and the controller for $50 plus shipping.

Hope that's not too steep. Just trying to help

Awesome! Is that the Buy.com bundle or a different one?

EDIT: Nevermind, I see that it was Etoys? What comes in that bundle?

Whoot! got mine this morning at the Best Buy that I work at. We only got 4 of the good systems, and 2 of the core's but I was the last one to get a good one. Yea, go me.

Guess the Best Buy the DreamWeaver was talking about is getting the majority of the systems in our district as they attach the most to them.

Well, it's good to see that Best Buy's enforcing their 'No Xbox 360 sales to employees' policy...

edited to add: That's not a dig at you tjr2mental. I'm glad you got one. I just think Best Buy's done an absolutely horrible job of handling this release.

Called my local EBGames where i preordered on 9/11 to find out where i am now on the list. I've made my way to #16. (119 left to go they said. yikes.) They said they got 14 in earlier this week and the "word" is that they expect another 20 by the end of the week. I'm not going the online route b/c i don't want to pay for faster shipping and regular shipping will probably not get me a 360 before I could get one at a B&M store. I have off tomorrow and will eventually stop by my Best Buy, but it's not a priority. If they have any when i get there, great, but i'm not waking up earlier than I would for work to get this system. I can feel how close I am to getting one, and it's exciting.
