I'd try anyway. As you know there are 3 here in the South Bay. There's Torrance, Hawthorne off the 405, and Long Beach so who knows. You might still get lucky.

Seems like more and more are trickling out. People over at FW are reporting WalMart gettings some in...of course, they are buying ALL of them at once.

Also, the people that get out of work late...they are pretty much S.O.L.
I think you need to be at the store opening to get one,.

That seems to be my problem! I've been working so much lately that I have no time to venture out.

I might try Best Buy on Sunday but I'm not looking forward to lining up at 2 am again. Last time I did that I came away empty handed and watched as people in front of me walked around and offered their spots in line for a hundred dollars. Then once the sun came up people materialized out of nowhere and the line magically doubled from the head to where I was.

Once the tickets were handed out a few lucky people were offering to sell their tickets for...one thousand dollars! It was then that I knew that this launch would go to the scalpers. Just as the concert tocket business has been dominated by these people, the video game market will be as well. At least when a cosole launches.

I'm curious, what about Target's policies against this? And are you employees wanting them so bad to scalp?

I'm curious about how many scalpers are making money right now. In a scan of the next 10 auctions ending, 8 of them are being won by a 0 feedback bidder.

Anyone see this article? I wonder what he is talking about on price reductions.

http://www.gamespot.com/news/6141192.html

I also heard Sam's is suppose to have them between the 15th and 20th, with some reporting they are to have them ON the 15th and 20th. I will try tomorrow morning as I have a business card through work. Even if I have to walk around for a couple of hours waiting to use my personal account, so be it. The Sam's bundle was a second controller and a play-n-charge kit for $450, or that is what the guy remembered.

Price reductions on a new console weeks after launch? I don't think that will happen. I don't think the author knows what he's talking about.

Well I'm pissed. Checked the order status at GameStop and they didn't ship the X-Box 360! Everything else has shipped, like that will do me much good.

I think that McNealy guy has had a wee bit too much Egg Nog.

If the ratio of friends and family who have 360s vs. those who don't have but want them, are any indication... 300,000 additional units is not going to be enough to flood the market enough to get to a point of discounting.

I don't think that means anything, if you follow up on those accounts I'm sure most will be legit. Just lots of newbies getting in on the 360.

No they shouldn't. CostCo had a great bundle. That amazon bundle isn't bad either. And it's smart of them to do since it's in such high demand. Better than having the electronics manager of Target keep them for employees.

It also makes it more difficult to SCALP since a scalper will have to unload all of the accessories to make the system profitable.

That would be cool if you could buy it from Amazon then return parts of the bundle at the local TRU. I would even take store credit if they did that.

I think the analyst is talking about the game industry in general. That's the only way the comments about a weak October and November make any sense. There will probably be $99 PS2s and original Xbox between now and next Christmas, and probably $149 packages that include several games.
