I have an Atari Jaguar and Jaguar CD + 30 cart games and 15 cd games. What the hell was I thinking?

I had this game as well and enjoyed it. It was the only game i ever played that used the controller.

I also enjoyed the Jaguar. Sim Theme Park was fun on it and Phantasy Zone rocked like none other. I love that little ship guy.

I really consider that just cheating in games.

Jaguar WAS the last US system till of course the Xbox came out.

I enjoy my Jaguar Collection from time to time. Tempest 2000 and BattleSphere are some of my favorites to play. (Please MINTER Release Tempest 2000 on xbox live arcade!!!!) The Toliet Seat CD Expansion has the original Music Synth Kaliedescope that Jeff Minter wrote and we are now enjoying his latest version of it on our 360's. The "Classic" Atari name will always have a place in my heart since I grew up playing their titles. I'm glad the name goes on, but it's kinda Ironic that it's owned by a French Company now. Atari was the first Successful Home Console to the masses.

I believe that post has just convinced me to pick up a DS.

I have to say that I absolutely hated the normal saturn controller. It felt as if it was completely hollow and had no weight to it. The shoulder buttons were not very good either. The damn thing just felt so cheap.

Probably the same thing I was thinking when I purchased my SegaCD and 32X.

The Sega CD rocked, if you could find the games. I lucked out, about two months after buying mine, the local-owned video store chain purged their shelves of any game other than Genesis or SNES. Got probably 30 Gen, CD, 32x games for 5-8 bucks each.

32x, now...that's another story....the only console I bought at launch....Now you see why I wait...

The sega CD did not rock, it had maybe 3-5 games worth playing, def. not worth the price of admission. If it did in fact "rock" we might not have had the Sony Playstation we have today. Oh my!

Are there any games on the Jaguar worth playing? I would have to buy the system, so they would have to be pretty decent games.

Shining Force CD, the Lunars, Vay, Snatcher, KEIO Flying Squadron, Sonic CD, Earthworm Jim, Sewer Shark [kidding], Popful Mail, Dark Wizard, I even enjoyed Bouncers, and definitely spent a long night playing Columns [although the sound emulation was too treble-y]....there were some gems in the rough. I got my money's worth, in the long run.

Had it been handled better, then perhaps we wouldn't have the PS1/PS2, and that would be bad, but I don't regret the Sega CD at all.

This is a good idea for a thread. Let's see some of the oddest controllers in gaming history.

Here's one I found called the Alphagrip. I believe it is meant for PC gaming.

Wow, that looks--complex.

How about those PC-game-specific keyboards?

And of course this one

it's different, and I will reserve judgment until using it, but it's definitley 'odd'. It could either suck, or be the most intuitive and novel controller ever.

As much as I liked the Dreamcast, I was never a big fan of the controller.

It had alot more good games than the Jaguar CD did. The JagCD had maybe 3-5 games total. The Sega CD had Sonic CD, Lunar 1 & 2, Shining Force CD, Out of this World 2, Final Fight CD, Panic!, Keio: Flying Squadron, Popful Mail, Dark Wizards, Snatcher (which despite my post in the other thread, I do consider to be worth playing) and etc. A disapointment, yes, for both gamers and for Sega, but not a complete waste of money if you know what to look for.

Hey now quirky games like that are awesome. Samba was my favorite but the times i've played Donkey Konga were very close as for how fun they were. I'm hoping the 360 comes out with a camera and Eyetoy like games just for the possibility of quirky games that anyone can play.
