Odd collection of Controller pics
Some really obscure controllers in this collection:

Never seen the saturn one. That looks even more uncomfortable than the Dreamcast, if that is even possible. Was Sega just trying to be the anti Nintendo? Dominating the non-ergonomic controller market?

What are these? Prototypes?

Speaking of bad Sega controllers.. I find it funny how they packaged a huge, uncomfortable piece of crap with the Saturn in America due to market research.. and quietly killed it off for the smaller Japanese one after numerous complaints. Sound familiar?

The Jaguar controller was a nightmare. Most games came with insets that you placed over the buttons to tell you which button did what for that particular game. That's really going to get the casual gamer excited.

The Atari 5200 also had a dial-pad.

Didn't the Intellivision controller have the overlays?
Oh yeah, I remember that Star Raiders number pad thing. What sucked is when you lose the overlay...and this was before Gamefaqs and stuff. |
I'm really surprised you guys don't know what the Jaguar and Saturn controller looks like. I mean you are posting in a video game forum and it wasn't that long ago....was it?
|
at this very moment im not even sure what a Jaguar is when referring to gaming. Ive only had 3 or 4 different consoles in my life.

Yeah, I loved Intellivision. I've still got an Intellivision II, voice module, and about 20 games. I'll definately buy an Intellivision collection for DS.

And, of course, by "64-bit", they really meant "32-bit + 32-bit".
|
Don't forget the Atari Panther. Developed along side of the Jaguar, it could have actually been a good system - if they didn't ditch it for the Jaguar.
|
The greatest invention was the "Turbo" button on the NES MAX and Advantage controllers. I ripped through games using them.
