GameRush is selling JUST the Premium system (although, I think they were only getting 10 consoles in). I know I was #1 on the list....so I'm not too worried about getting it. I BETTER get it

I am a bit worried, as several people have stated on other forums that their Gamerush is getting shorted. One was only getting 5 units.

I am going to call my Gamerush today, and see what they say.

Well, as long as they go in the order the pre-orders were taken, I'm fine. I'm going to check this week if they are having a midnight release also...I'll go if they are, JUST to be sure I get one.

As far as I know, there are no plans for Half Life 2 on the 360, so that won't be an issue.

He's talking about Backwards Compatability. Half-Life 2 IS confirmed to be BC. I'm assuming he will start playing this week, then have to switch over when he gets rid of the XBOX for the 360. tick tock...less than a week.

I am hoping that if there are problems getting one at Sams at 7am then I can move on to other stores early.
Just curious to what others think about this or if they have heard from anyone working at Sams.
That is my plan as well. Hit Sam's and if that doesn't go over, head over to one of the stores that opens at 9. That way I'm still getting there almost 2 hours before the 9 am store opens.

I'd love to get one on launch day. Sadly though, I don't think my budget would forgive me.

exactly... just that my wife wants to be able to have the kids (they are 5 and 7 so its a big deal to them) give me something nice for Christmas... and on a limited budget that can be hard... when most of our money will be going to purchase their Christmas presents... so my 360 which I'll be picking up at Midnight at GameRush and which is almost completely paid for with GR credit from trade ins will not be opened until Christmas day.

So in the meantime I'll play Half Life on my X box but may or may not finish it before Christmas (limited gaming time), so then if I want to play it on the 360, I'll just have to start over.

This will be the first console I've ever picked up at launch (always waited for a price drop previously) and now I'll have to wait a month to play it ...

Do any stores have games available yet? I hit Best Buy after work yesterday, but they just had a big empty space for 360 stuff.

Well at least for a little while I can play COD2 and PD0 without hearing "poor Martin" as you ruin my chances of winning

Honestly I just threw a $20 here and a $10 there into my drawer for the last few months and eventually came up with the money, all I had to do was tell myself over and over "no you can't buy that DVD" it became natural after awhile.

The bulk of Best Buy stuff should be available 11/17.

I've pretty much convinced myself that I probably won't be able to get one next week. I'm going to try Wal-Mart and Sam's Club. Maybe TRU if I have no luck at the others. I don't mind waiting a bit longer.

I like how it said 25 games by year end......please tell me what the other SEVEN games will be after launch? (I know DOA4 is one, but what else? Oblivion is 2006...right?)

I'm not complaining, just curious.

I just called both of my Sams clubs in my area and both said they haven't received any shipments and are not sure if they will have them on the 22nd. They both said to call back on Monday to see.

I sure hope that's not what they mean. I guess Top Spin2, NCAA B-Ball and DOA4 can be considered..oh well. 18-20 games for launch "window" is good.

I'm betting on Top Spin as well. It is listed for 1/1 and that is a Sunday, so I bet that will change.

Kind of an unusual question and may have been posted already, but...

For the stores that plan on doing a midnight launch, will they continue to stay open for that entire morning? That is, stay open from 12am until their normal opening time that Tuesday morning?
