Definitely looking forward to playing this game, especially with others here via wifi. According to nintendo, the game is released today, but I haven't had any luck finding it at local retailers. Has anybody picked this title up yet?

Sunday's Best Buy ad mentioned it would be in stores on Wednesday.

I am really looking forward to this title.

I am so freakin poor right now, but I did ebay some things so I should be able to pick this up this week when it should be on sale.

I have my pre-sale at TRU. I'll probably call later today to see if they got it. But most likely most stores will get it in Tuesday or Wednesday.

EB/Gamestop says Tuesday around here. I'll try Fry's later, though.

The DS bundle wont be out until the 29th if Im not mistaken. The shipping date of Mario Kart DS is the 14th so some retailers wont be recieving it until the 15th (tomorrow). Yes, yes that red DS is looking badass.

Nope, the bundle is supposed to come out on the 28th.

I pre-ordered mine with 1 day shipping from eb games. It should be here tomorrow. I can't wait!

So, are there any other deals besides the Fry's one? Lately I've been able to pick up the last three (nintendogs, Advance wars, castlevania) at spectacular deals but nothing for MK. I was hoping for at least a $30 price.

Couldn't find it locally, so I ordered it online. Fry's/Outpost had it for $23.99, although the shipping was pretty steep at $6.50. I noticed they had Animal Crossing DS available for preorder at $23.99 as well, so I went ahead and added that as well. Shipping ended up being $7.23 for both. Averaging $27.61 for games at $35 MSRP is fine by me :)

I wandered into Wal-Mart tonight for some other stuff and was surprised to see MK on shelves. That's the first time our Wal-Mart beat any other stores in town. I've played one cup so far and enjoy it. Can't wait to go against other people. My Wal-Mart also had it for an odd price, $32.84 or something similar.

It's listed for $33.82 at walmart.com. I had the same experience with Nintendogs on its release date. Gamestop said it wasn't "released" until tomorrow, so I went across the street to walmart and got it.

*sigh* Looks like I'm going to have to buy that USB connecter. A buddy of mine set up a wireless network card on my computer sometime ago so I could "borrow" a high speed signal. He called me today to warn me not to use my DS to connect to the wifi network, doing so could get my signal blocked ending my use of the high speed. Is there any way around this? I really dont have the extra 35 dollars right now. Sorry to sound cheap but Im on a budget.

Why don't you just play at a coffe shop, a library, mcdonalds, or a hundred other places. Give you a reason to get out of the house. You can also get wifi in hell if you sell your soul which sounds like it might be the best option.

Fry's was supposed to have them yesterday at 4pm. I went in a 6pm and they still did not have them out. I did get a good look at the computer, and it is definitely listed at $24.99. I plan on taking a long lunch today and getting it.

Is this supposed to play more like the SNES version or the newer versions? I love the SNES version, but the N64 and GC versions have pretty much sucked, IMHO.

More like the N64 version (since the DS is basically a portable N64).

There's a GBA that's more like the SNES version.

I have found that they managed to take the strong elements of the SNES and N64 versions and put them into one game. Very little GC DD influence in the game. It really is the best mario kart yet IMO.

Um...read the post. I said anywhere BESIDES fry's. We won't all live in Cali or Texas. Fry's is a very regional store.

:lol: Sorry, just had a mental thought of a bunch of video game geeks taking over a coffee shop to duke it out in Mario Kart.

Actually, it'd be more like one person in various coffee shops around the country. Or, even more likely that most geeks as you call them have their own wireless networks set up at home.

I don't see why you'd get caught all of a sudden. Why does you friend think that? Does he think that there is a built in DS Wifi Detector in that router or something?
IMHO, All that the router would ever see is a new MAC address, and it wouldn't care if it's from a DS or a laptop. So it's doubtful you'd be caught for using you DS on the "borrowed" signal. It's more likely that you'd be caught for using your laptop to browse the web and hogging bandwidth.

You gather correct. It may be one of the best blind buys that I have ever recommended.

Fry's still does not have them in yet, 12pm today. I am going to call and see if they have any in yet.

*Update, just got off of the phone, they have them in (Tempe, AZ), I plan on playing this tonight, although I wont be able to share until tomorrow. I wont be getting High Speed at home again until this weekend.

Just got mine today. But I'm having a hard time getting the wi-fi up and running.

I'll be picking it up tomorrow with a stack of McDonalds Best Buy Bucks. It looks really good, so I hope I like it. I enjoy MK: DD a lot, and I know that's not exactly everyone's favorite Mario Kart.

Still can't get the wi-fi up and did everything their site told me to do. I hate not being good w/ computers. Guess I'll just have to get one of my friends to help me this week or play at McDonalds -ohbfrank-

Just played my first ever online match. I connected pretty easily and used the worldwide option. My friends haven't given me their codes yet so I originally tried the regional setting but no luck. Worldwide hooked me up with 3 other players pretty quick and one dude even had his decal already designed. I still need to register with the WiFi website for stat tracking but right now I so stoked...gotta go play.

Just bought the game at Walmart for $34.88. Hope to be up and running soon!
