 It's March. |
I'm mildly curious. Has MS added anything to the list at all in the last two months? If so, how many?
|
yeah they've added some of the TC games, and fixed a few bugs in other ones that were already on the list. i hope they add more in the next few months or at least the games i have so i can get rid of mr. xbox 1. or maybe they're going to start making that portable thing, if it played xbox 1 games that would be super cool too.

I loved how it said "MS put to rest the rumors" when it wasn't a rumor at all. No BC games and it is March.
More troubling is developers are saying that it is MS holding back BC, when MS is saying the opposite. Criterion wanted to work on making Burnout 3 and Revenge BC but MS showed no interest. |
I just updated my 360 to be BC. I really wonder how they can get that many games backwards compatible with a 5mb file, has this been discussed yet?

good for you man you're super hardcore on your dates, last couple months i'd consider the late dec update being as it is just the end of feb first of march to be the last couple months, but i'm not hardcore on the timeline. |

Had I known that Backward Compatibility would be so poor, and media capabilities locked down so tightly, I would've considered buying an XBox *before* buying a 360. Having a 360 only changes things considerably. |
Well, I've got about 5 Xbox games left.. I don't recall any of them being on the BC list last time I checked. Hopefully some of them make it by the time this thing hits a price drop and the Mistwalker games start coming out for it. Blue Dragon.. yum.
|
Well I hadn't checked this thread in a couple months and thought I would see how the list is coming. Saw a couple of Xbox titles that I've been wanting cheap(Advent Rising, Psychonaught) and was hoping to see an update. Very disappointed to see it is going nowhere.
I can't say I'm surprised. It was a half assed attempt out of the gates to appeal to people on the fence about the system. I would not be surprised if the whole B/C list stays where it is and the whole project is shit-canned. |
i agree their Backward Compatibility list SUCKS! there are games i have that are older games i.e. rallisport 2 etc that will probably never make it. sony is going to cream em again because of their play everything bc support!

The official thread that culled together all the info from the press releases has this to say. How does it work? PS3 does not use emulation. The chips necessary to run PS2 and PS1 games are built into the PS3. Not to mention emulation won't be possible as I don't think the PS3 is coming with an HD at launch. So it may not be fact, but it's likely. A company would have to be brain dead to follow in MS's path after how much shit they're getting about it. |
...and of course the PS2 was 100% backwards compatible with the PS1.
|
Actually, aren't there 6 or so games from PS1 that won't work on the PS2? Either way, the number is miniscule.

Wasn't the last update that there wouldn't be any BC updates until March? Has anybody heard what (if freaking anything) they're working on and will it be released this month?
|
The list has been updated.
Well, they changed the date anyway, the list looks the same to me. What a crushing disappointment. Remember before the 360 was released? Not only were they going to concentrate on 100% BC, they were going to make sure new Xbox 1 games would be BC out of the box, via the game disc. Yeah Right. |
so where or when do we get this majic update???
|
Honestly, as much as I want 100% BC, I'd rather have them focus on other areas than this. I know last I heard they were dumping more manpower into BC, but before that I heard the BC team was going on a long vacation.
