Again, after reading some walkthroughs and such, they state that Sgt Randall is the one that gives the smoke command. he just hasn't done so yet, for whatever reason.

I will let you know tonight if clearing the front bunker does the trick.

I don't think he does it right away when you're near the end of that area. Wasn't that area a timed objective? It seemed to me I had to do a certain amount of killing/defending until Randall gave that order. And when he did, like all areas of the game, the order wa repeated over and over until I did it so it was hard to miss.

What happened, is that the initial bunker that is underground, closest to where you climb the rope was not cleared. There were not any enemies in there, but as soon as I tried to go into the bunker, the wall collapsed like it always does, and that triggered the mission to end scene music and then I met up with Sgt Randall to end the mission.

Wierd that the bunker itself had to collapse to clear the mission. They should have added an additional star for that bunker, would have made the game much smoother.

Thanks for the help btw.

I'm nearing the end on Veteran, I believe, and I feel your pain. It can be insanely frustrating, yet I can't seem to quit. I don't care so much about the points as the need to finish it. Last night at 10:30 I swore I'd just play to one checkpoint and stopped at 12:45 a.m. The silos were horrific, and now I'm somewhere capturing the German HQ. I hope the end's in sight because I need to put this game away for about 3 months after this...

Edit: I am ready for the loony bin. I'm on the LAST "clear the houses" house, the German HQ, house "E," and I cannot for the life of me finish it. I get all the way into the house, clear the first floor, but every !@#)(*$ time I head upstairs for the last few Nazis, I get killed. Every. Time. I try grenades, smoke & frag. Nothing works. I swear I've been down to one guy at least a dozen times, and after six hours on one house I'm ready to quit. Any ideas?

Damn, they've been showing "Saving Private Ryan" on cable this week and I swear it's making want to play COD2 all over again.

So are there any walkthroughs for the 360 game? I've found others for different platforms, but they are different. I have just started it, and am just starting the british portion, and am having trouble.

I am on the regular level

Thanks, but that says that it is for the PC, and the missions seems to be a bit different. The problem I am having is the first British mission, and I have to defend the west side from the onslaught of Germans. I think that I am missing something, since I just can't do it.

According to the Gamespot review the two versions of the game are identical, except for the multiplayer.

I can't say for sure though, as I only have the PC version.

I started playing the 360 version on Veteran, the other day, and I'm a few levels in. It's quite difficult.

Well, I finally beat Veteran mode today. Places that almost drove me insane: clearing the houses (Silo), the first level of D-Day and the last level of the Battle for Caen. I'm glad I'm finally done (just multiplayer for now on).

I'm still not done with veteran, and I would like to add that I blame on Tbird2340 for it.

I'm stuck on the veteran tank driving levels. I have no idea how to work those darn things. Other than that, I'm doing okay on veteran whenever I decide to play it. It just sucks that there are very few levels where I can use my girl gun. That make me sad.

Still trying the Silo level. I'm about 3 hours into it.

So far, things I've tried to, or have almost broken:

My HDTV
My Xbox 360 controller
My laptop
My coffee table
My remote

I've heard a few say that the tank level is a pain. I found the tank levels easy. Off the top of my head, what you do is hold down the Right Trigger(?) to keep the Top Gun part aligned with the lower track part.....
