I was in WalMart today and they seem to be clearing out alot of electronic stuff. They had the Sony Stamina Battery Pack for the PSP for $18.00.
This is the one rated at 3.6v 2200mAh 20% more power.
Bronze packaging and bronze printing on the battery.
YMMV

I played the Loco Roco demo last weekend and it was cool as hell. It's easily the best PSP game I've gotten a chance to play. I also played around with Mega Man Powered Up with all the characters unlocked.. seems like a cool way to extended what is otherwise a pretty short game, but at the same time.. it's NOT that different with each character. Seeing as it's $20 already (?) I'd probably grab it if/when I get a PSP. I picked up the European import, Tales of Eternia, but I haven't opened it and am probably going to take it back or put it up for sale.. it's 100% identical to the PS1 version and due to how crappy the controls on the PSP are (except for Loco Roco!) I'd rather just stick with the original.

are there any reviews for Madden in the PSP yet?
I'm expecting this year to buy the 360 and PSP version. Last year I bought the PS2 and PSP version, funny thing is that I never used the PSP->PS2 connectivity...
I hope this year they fix the problem with the loading times and no problems with the season mode.

I bought it yesterday from CC, with the 360 version too.
I think Madden 2007 for the PSP it's an improvement over last year. That's really easy to say considering all the problems with last year's version. The graphics quality is almost the same, maybe a little improvement. The design of course is different, we still have TV commentators.
The best thing, for me, it's that now we have INSTANT REPLAY!. How I missed that option in Madden 2006.
I haven't tried any of the new features. Also, there are no significant loading times, it's really fast, and when it's loading a new game it shows some interesting trivia.

It's gotten a decent reviews at metacritic so far. I think I will go to circuit city tomorrow and pick this up. It will be a good game to play in the shitter.

Just picked this up (Madden 07), but haven't opened it yet. Reviews are pretty positive. It's worth it (especially at $27) right?

Well, I'm done with the current incarnation of the PSP - it's going on eBay this week.
I finally picked up Gradius Collection over the weekend; it's unplayable on the hardware. I had managed to avoid the d-pad problems until recently, but between Gradius, Ultimate G 'n G, and Every Extend Extra, all of the games I'd been looking forward to are ruined by the system itself.
Now I remember why I swore off games with control issues ten years ago. It's never worth it, and there's no excuse for it.

Sorry to hear that Ralph. I would imagine that G 'n G is pretty tough no matter what controller you use; it's just REALLY tough. Did you play EEE? I'll be upset if that's tough to play since it's one I'm looking forward to.
I know I'm in the really small minority there, but I don't think that the D-pad on the DSL is very good either. I find it impossible to move diagonally with it. Not that the PSP D-pad couldn't use a redesign, but it isn't like the competition has the solution, either.

There are a couple games coming out this week that are supposed to be good. First up is Ultimate Ghosts N' Goblins followed by Def Jam: Fight for NY: Takedown. I definitely plan on picking up Ghosts N' Goblins as I'm still a huge fan of Ghouls N' Ghosts from back in the day. Not sure about Def Jam as it's supposed to be pretty much a port of the same game from the PS2, just with some additional minigames. Other than that, Tekken Dark Resurrection came out recently and it is incredible, definitely worth giving a look. LocoRoco is also coming out next week and is also supposed to be excellent.

I'm excited to get Loco Roco next week. That demo ROCKS! Tekken DR is amazing. I still haven't tried Madden, but I hear it's pretty great for a portable sports game.

Thanks...maybe I'll rent Madden and something else. IT's been a while since I played a game on my PSP. I have Daxter and rented Lemmings and Syphon Filter a few months ago....those were the newest games I played.
Not a fan of fighting, so Tekken may have to pass...

So I'm playing this AWESOME game on PC from Falcom (the makers of Ys and the Legend of Heroes games on PSP) called Gurumin. It just came out for the PSP in Japan so I figured I'd bump this to pimp it a bit, I hope it comes out the US. Anyway, they bill it as an "Action RPG" but there's really no RPG to it, it's more or less a cross between a Mario (platforming) and Zelda (dungeons) game with a hell of a lot more emphasis on fighting monsters. As with most Falcom games, it has one bad ass soundtrack and all of the dungeon themes have strong beats to them.. and that's because if you attack on beat you do better combos and damage! (Fun!)
So here's a trailer from Falcom's site:

The site itself has some samples of the game's music:

Interesting. Hopefully it ports over to the US. I like RPG's but not really for a hand held. If this has more fighting, I might grab it as I do like the story aspect of RPGs.
I really did like the Loco Roco demo.. haven't picked it up yet tho. And I'm still on the fence about Tekken (though I have heard a lot of great things about it.)

Anyone get that Killzone demo in the mail? It's pretty interesting, but certainly different. The isometric perspective makes it feel like a GBA game, though the graphics are very detailed and the rag doll physics impressive. Different weapons can be fun; I like the crossbow with explosive bolts. Gotta say though, having a sniper rifle but not the ability to aim FPS style really sucks. This will certainly be a wait-for-the-review kinda game. Not sure if the analog nub aiming is working very well for me.
There also is apparently a deep multiplayer form, but I haven't found any matches yet with the demo.
