Yep, I think SOME of the stuff works. I think a few NES emulators do NOT work. Also, I don't think any LOADERS work with anything above 1.5 (ISO stuff...which is illegal anyways)

I still haven't picked up a game for the PSP, but Virtua Tennis at $20 looks like a good deal and Ys definitely has my interest. I tried out Mega Man, PoPoLoCrois, Tokobot and Tiger Woods 06, but none of them inspired me to make a purchase. Tiger Woods has dropped to $30 since I tried it out though so I may consider it again. The load times could be better but it was a nice looking game.

Oh, I can see why Capcom wanted to ship a replacement D-pad for the PSP.. I got the Fireball for Mega Man X and it's IMPOSSIBLE to pull off.

Its a port of an older RPG to the PSP. Its only going to be $30 and is a decent enough game. This cover is for the PS2 version, but the PSP one will be very similar except that it is supposed to be a port of the PC version and will look a bit different. I think they are adding mini games to it that are exclusive as well.

Not sure if anyone has seen this, but someone came up with a more permanent fix to the d-pad issue.

Got Tales of Eternia and Breath of Fire 3 today. Finally good RPGs! Even if they are remakes, I haven't played either.

No. Unless a videogame port has 30% new addition to the game, Sony of America will not allow port releases. Which means LOTS of good games (mostly rpgs) will probably not come out in the stateside. So, most likely they will not come out, but the UK version is in english so alls good

NIS America Announces Blade Dancer, an action RPG, For US Release:
Gamers take control of Lance, who has inherited magic from the land of Foo. What would a good knight do without some evil entity to do battle with? Probably play chess. Luckily for Lance the Dread Knight will prove worthy adversary, for it is he who killed the Blade Dancer during the Great War. Therefore Lance and his partners have to find, and kill, the Dread Knight to save the universe

Sony of America strikes again by keeping quality software out of America. The Euro releases are nice, but there is no way in hell I'm paying $60 for PSP games and I haven't been able to find BoF III or Tales of Eternia priced much cheaper than that.

Where did you end up ordering these from? I've only been able to find them at Lik-Sang.

if this 30% rumor were true, I'd think that a lot of the non-original PSP games already out would fail this test. X-men Legends 2, which I like a lot, would notably fail that test, as they kept the exact same game and added a couple of characters and missions.

I read something like that in a PSM. It didn't apply to multi-console games, but rather that SCEA didn't want the PSP library to be full of PS1 ports (making the PSP a de-facto GBA in a sense). That's why there was some original content added to Ape Escape and Midevil.
I sorta understand their position, but it's still stupid because how huge would a FF VIII and FF XI compilation be? That would be an ENORMOUS seller, but SCEA apparently won't allow straight PS1 ports.

I'm pretty sure if Square wanted to make a straight FFVII port to PSP, Sony America would let them. They could do worse than follow the GBA model, don't you think?

I'd think they'd be awesome and great selllers. Especially FF IX, since it was released well after the PS2 launch and a lot of gamers (like myself) missed out on playing that one.

I suppose that SCEA's concern is that a glut of PS1 games might make consumers think the PSP isn't capable of PS2 level games or graphics (which, it seems, it usually isn't). I dunno; but I'd have no problems with FF ports or other major RPGs from the past. MGS (or a Twin Snakes clone) would also be very appealing.

Oh, and on a different front, Exit was supposed to be out today. Has anyone picked up the US version yet? I'm hoping to get it by the weekend...

Considering one of the main draws in the online community of a PSP is just straight emulation, you'd think Sony would see the incredible market in ports and compilation games. Of course, they shouldn't just port it over... they'll have to change aspect ratio, text, etc., and maybe add a few goodies. But c'mon, a Square compilation with, say, Vagrant Story or the Front Mission games or Saga series? Grandia 1+2?

I'm very, very tempted to just go ahead and import Tales, if someone can verify that Sony America's policy will really block it from coming out here...

In order to play Tales do you need to have an import PSP from the UK as well?

As far as I understand, the PSP has no reigon codes for games (only movies). Any reigon's games should work anywhere.

Yep. Region free for games, not for movies.

Hmmm this might make my decision to get a PSP a little easier. How much did you end up spending to get Tales of Eternia and BoF 3 shipped to you?
