That was the Nintendo Fun Club Newsletter.
A quick Google search brought up this interesting tidbit:
"The "WINTER 1987 volume 1 number 1" issue of the Nintendo Fun Club newsletter sold for $1025 yesterday."
(on eBay, circa 2002)

There was something about it in my Nintendo so we subscribed and then they announced they were doing away with it and Nintendo Power came out.
Am I crazy and dreaming this up?

I was thinking I had started at Issue #2, but I definitely remember that Issue #1 cover with the crappy art. If Pixy's $1025 is accurate (nobody on E-bay had any earlier than #2) then I'm gonna cry.
Nintendo Power #1s seem to be netting about $30 too which isn't bad. Fortunately I took an exacto-knife and cut out every nintendo power page with a map/tip/trick on it. I then hole punched them and placed them alphabetically in a 3 ring binder so I could keep all the tips together by game for easy finding.

I have a stack 5 or so feet high of CGW, PC Gamer, and a few others from the 90s, mainly 95-99 probably. Some older maybe, some more recent. I am about to trash them all.
It is not worth the hassle to ebay them for a few bucks.
I would give them to any local DVDtalker who wants to arrange a pickup/dropoff.
I might be convinced to mail them, but I'm hoping that no one wants to put me thru that.

At my parent's house there are a stack of my old Computer Gaming World and Nintendo Powers Circ. 1985
They like to keep them because back then they were more into gaming.
