I played a 2 moth free trial of the Japanese Blue Burst months ago. Much like the Xbox version, it's the same fucking game with the same fucking graphics and they now want you to pay $10 a month for it. It just doesn't have the magic it did when it came out for Dreamcast and the "new" stuff isn't all that new.

Well, give it a try! That's just my opinion; I know a girl who used to play with me on the Dreamcast and I got her in with me on the Japanese Blue Burst PC and the magic was there for her again, she's still playing it. So don't take my word as gospel. But, if you jumped on the Cube or Xbox (which I think you did) and that magic wasn't there then.. don't count on it now.

yeah i played the xbox version and it was fun for about 2 days. been sitting on the shelf ever since.
since pso:bb is free for now, I'll give it ago. I just won't get my hopes up about it.
did anyone play the battle card PSO, I heard that it was different but was decent. Never got around to it.
The PSO collection for the GBA was the reason I got a GBA in the 1st place. Sweet, sweet memories.

Quick question: the latest PSO was based on some kind of card system, right? Did they go away from that for this release?

Yeah, I read the EGM article about the upcoming PSU. Looks interesting, but I still have my doubts about how good the single player is going to be... and it's also coming at the end of the system's life cycle.
It also will not use the HDD, so I wonder how they're going to patch the game/release updates...
