I could have gone with any controller, but notice in my post I went with the Xbox controller. The PS/PS2 controller handles don't feel right; their too coned-shape and slide out of my hands. At least with the Xbox S controller the handles have a bigger diameter and the fact that the shoulder buttons line-up with the handles much like a 'pistol-grip and trigger' make it feel more natural.

Not a big fan of the loose analog sticks on the PS2, and greatly prefer the Xbox and GC controllers.

Sony will be releasing a silver slimline model of the PS2 the same day as the XBOX360 May 13th MTV campaign. Kind of a weak response but snazzy looking nevertheless. I'm hoping the PSP will drop in price later in the year in response to the 360 launch.

that's sweet if it's for the US. I had to leave my PS2 with my little sister so i was going to get another PS2, but if this is true my entire new setup in my apartment will be silver. Gamecube, Wavebird, DVD Player, TV, and now PS2.

And soon to be 360.

Damn, that silver PS2 looks nice. I passed on getting a + model, I passed on the first slim release, but that is very enticing........

they had a silver one in japan and europe a long time ago, maybe if they drop the price to a 100 or less i'll get one

IIRC, the price doesn't drop to $100 until the next console is released.

Silver colored components are certainly an eye catcher in A/V equipment.

It's just a Silver PS2 for gods sake. I thought everyone got over this during the last batch of 'change the colour of the console to cash in on yesterdays technology' craziness.

Did anyone else hear that Sony will announce details on the PS3 3 hours before the XBOX 360 announcment at E3? Or is that just some idiot rumour that my manager told me to sound cool?

It's true, but I think the MTV Special trumps the early Sony annoucement, but I'm not for sure. Just a stupid pissing contest, Sony should back off and let the 360 have its moment in the sun IMO. But it's a cut throat industry so what can you do.

it is because sony is scared outta their mind about the working xbox when they're still in prototype stage. i'd be scared too the first xbox was microsoft's pissing into the game console world. the new one actually has them out for blood. i'd watch out i mean bill gates might go DOS 5.0 on sony's ass.

D'OH!! Say it isn't true. I can't stand that style. Couldn't stand the B&W ones either. Why do we need a dozen buttons on the controllers. I think 6 is a nice number.

Just because the image says "wireless" doesn't mean that it isn't possible for there to be corded controllers. There's been speculation that there are actually controller ports on one side of the machine.
