EB Games shows a release of 12/1 but Gamestop shows 2/2/06. Since Square hasn't said anything by now I'm going to say the Gamestop date is probably accurate.

All of those dates are made up.

Gamestop dates are NEVER accurate.

Even if they are made up, a 2006 release seems more likely.

On your Gamestop comment -- I've known them to be more accurate than EB when it comes to release dates.

I was holding out hope that this would be released Nov.-Dec. to fill that void Zelda left but highly doubt its going to happen. With Zelda out for this year, KH2 would have been one, if not the biggest game release this Holiday season.

Well, Japanese magazines are still listing the release date as Q4 2005 as recently as this week and it's already confirmed that they've done extensive work on the English localization.. a late November/early December worldwise release is still not out of the question. I'm sure both sides want the game out in time for Christmas. We shall see though.

Yup. Looks like a 1st Qtr. 2006 release for us. Probably Feb.-March.

I'd guess SE USA will announce something within the next week or so now that the Japanese date is set. They've been shooting for a worldwide release since day one (the game was more popular here than in Japan) and will probably want the game out in time for Christmas as they did with Chain of Memories last year. It can still go either way but before Christmas (first or second week of December) is more probable.

The English version was part of the development process so it could very well come out here a week or two before the Japanese version. It's all speculation until they actually announce something, but rest assured every Square-Enix suit sees this game as their holiday gold mine.

It's funny, Square is making an effort to release KH2 worldwide, yet they've never done this, ever, for a Final Fantasy game.

I'm just happy we're getting it at all. I've been playing through the first one over the last couple of weeks and I forgot how much I liked it, especially near the end when I'm just a bad ass.

Seeing as there's still not a whisper on a US release it's safe to join Setzer on the 2006 bandwagon. Square-Enix is putting all its holiday cards in Dragon Quest VIII. I wonder if they'll add more to the US version again.. I could almost see Sony giving them a little extra pocket change to release the game at the same time as Zelda. Well, I hope it's not too long if localization rumors were true.. January would put it on my birthday, ah yes.

Anyway, I'm going to keep quiet on it until a US date is actually announced, now that Christmas is out of the question there's no use in speculating any more and I'd rather keep all the game's real surprises left to my first play though. Once the game is out in Japan I'm probably going to stay away from any KH sites.

But damn, you have to see that trailer.

After seeing that trailer, I gotta say that SE can take as long as they want with KH2. If that's just a taste of what's in store then I can wait even longer that was just amazing!

That was awesome! The battles look intense, and tons of characters on screen simultaneously. I shouldn't have watched that though, now I want to play that game right now! . The gummi ships look to be a bit better done and a lot faster and more to do. I'm hoping for a January as well if we can't get it for Christmas. The game seriously looks like its done.

Hey, just like you, I would love nothing more than having KH2 before Christmas but when September rolled around and there was still no word from Square about a NA release date I knew 2005 would be out of the question.

Both Ebgames and Gamestop show a 3/1/05 release date and Amazon shows a 4/15/05 release date. Who knows where they got their information from. They may just be throwing those dates out there but I do believe a 1st Qtr. 2006 release is likely.

I'm with you. I'm super jazzed about this, but maybe I'll rebuy and replay KH1 again before 2 comes out. I say any game that can make Mickey Mouse seem like a total badass has to be doing something right.
